Job Role: Deputy Fashion DesignerJob location: Surat, GujaratCompany Overview:Heart&Soul is a leading manufacturer of Indian ethnic wear , renowned for its quality craftsmanship and commitment to traditional design aesthetics. We take pride in preserving India's rich textle heritage while embracing modern innovation.Key Responsibilities:·Conceptualize and develop full collections for Indian wear, including sarees, lehengas, kurtas, anarkalis, and fusion pieces based on market trends and brand vision.·Create detailed sketches, tech packs, and prototypes, specifying fabrics, trims, prints, and embroidery suitable for Indian textiles like silk, chiffon, georgette, and brocades.·Research seasonal trends, colors, motifs, and techniques in Indian fashion while incorporating global influences for fusion designs.·Collaborate with production, embroidery, and print teams to ensure designs translate accurately from sketch to final garment.·Manage design timelines, conduct fit sessions, and iterate based on feedback to meet quality and delivery standards.·Maintain a design archive, including mood boards, swatches, and documentation for future references and trend forecasting.Requirements:·Graduate from a reputed fashion/design college (e.g., NIFT, NID, Pearl Academy, or equivalent).·2-4 years of hands-on experience in Indian wear design, preferably with established brands or boutiques specializing in ethnic apparel.·Strong portfolio showcasing complete collections, sketches, and executed garments in traditional and contemporary Indian styles.·Proficiency in design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop Procreate) alongside basic hand-sketching skills is a plus.·In-depth knowledge of Indian fabrics, embroidery techniques (zari, gota, aari), prints (block, digital), and regional crafts.·Proven ability to balance creativity with commercial viability, including sizing, grading, and cost optimization.·Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration and vendor coordination.
