Familiarity with materials used in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Fighting is an essential requirement.Position : Procurement Specialist – MEP ProjectsLocation: Bengaluru, Vadodara, Sambhaji Nagar, ChennaiReports to: Procurement ManagerRole Overview The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for managing procurement activities related to MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) projects.This includes sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, equipment, and services in a timely and cost-effective manner, ensuring compliance with project specifications and company policies.Key Responsibilities:Procurement & Sourcing- Identify, source, and evaluate suppliers/vendors for MEP-related materials and equipment. - Send RFQs to vendors. - Prepare Vendor Comparisons - Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules. - Maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure reliable supply chain support.Project Coordination- Work closely with Project Managers, Site Engineers, and the Planning team to understand material requirements. - Ensure timely delivery of materials to avoid project delays. - Track delivery and receipt of material and accompanying compliance documents.Documentation & Compliance- Create purchase orders - Share approved PO with VendorsCost & Inventory Management- Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, and material availability. - Support cost control by identifying opportunities for savings and optimizing procurement processes. - Coordinate with the stores/warehouse team to track stock levels and avoid overstocking/shortages.Key Skills & Competencies- Strong knowledge of MEP materials, equipment, and vendors. - Excellent negotiation and communication skills. - Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. - Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems (preferred). - Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.Qualifications & Experience- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical or related field. - 2–5 years of procurement experience in the construction / contracting industry, preferably with MEP projects. - Knowledge of local and international suppliers, import/export processes is an advantage.Key Attributes- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. - Strong ethical standards and integrity. - Team player with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
