# **Mechanical Engineer – 3D Printer Machine Design (1–2 Years Experience)****Location:** Hyderabad**Company:** Garuda3D – India’s home-grown 3D Printer Manufacturer### **About the Role**We are looking for a passionate Mechanical Engineer who *lives and breathes* machine design and 3D printing! If you love creating mechanisms, understanding motion systems, and designing parts from concept to final assembly — this role is for you.You will work on our next-gen 3D printers (FFF, CoreXY, IDEX, specialty printers) and convert ideas into functional mechanical designs independently.---## **Key Responsibilities*** Understand the **mechanics and workflow of 3D printers** (CoreXY, IDEX, Gantry systems, linear motion, extruders).* Convert product requirements into **functional mechanical designs** with minimal supervision.* Design sheet metal, machined parts, plastic components, fixtures, and assemblies.* Develop solid 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed 2D drawings.* Work closely with electronics and firmware teams to ensure proper integration.* Perform tolerance checks, component selection, and manufacturability analysis.* Prototype mechanisms, test assemblies, and troubleshoot mechanical performance.* Improve existing products for better performance, reliability, and ease of manufacturing.* Communicate clearly with suppliers and fabricators.---## **Required Skills & Experience*** **B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering.*** **1–2 years of hands-on experience with 3D printers** (building, assembling, troubleshooting, or modifying).* Strong understanding of:* Linear rails, lead screws, belts, pulleys* Stepper-based motion systems* Extruder and hotend mechanical design* Kinematics of CoreXY, Cartesian, IDEX, etc.* Good knowledge of 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks/Fusion 360/Creo).* Ability to think logically and convert requirements into mechanisms independently.* Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical intuition.* Passion for designing **compact, reliable, high-precision machines**.---## **Bonus Skills (Good to Have)*** Experience in sheet metal design for fabrication* Basic understanding of electronics (NEMA motors, drivers, sensors)* Exposure to Klipper, Marlin, or other firmware* Experience with rapid prototyping or R&D environments---## **What We Offer*** Opportunity to work on **India’s most innovative 3D printer projects*** Direct involvement in R&D and next-gen machine development* A fast-growing engineering environment where your ideas matter* A chance to build machines that will be used across India
