Job Title: DB Automation Specialist (Terraform | Ansible | On-Prem | Databases)Location: Only HyderabadExperience: 8+ YearsEmployment Type: Contract to HireNotice: Immediate -20 DaysAbout the RoleWe are looking for a DB Automation Specialist with strong experience in automating end-to-end database provisioning across on-premise infrastructure (90%) and cloud IaaS environments. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD, and hands-on expertise with PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, and integration components such as backups and monitoring.This is a technical, hands-on role focused on building scalable, repeatable, and automated DB provisioning workflows.Key Responsibilities- Design and develop automated workflows for provisioning databases using Terraform and Ansible. - Implement on-prem DB provisioning including storage, networking, virtualization, and OS-level dependencies. - Automate DB deployments in cloud IaaS (AWS/Azure/GCP) including VM creation, network configuration, and bootstrap scripts. - Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitLab) for DB provisioning and infrastructure automation. - Create and maintain Helm charts / Operators (optional) for database automation. - Automate installation, configuration, initialization, patching, and upgrades for multiple DB engines. - Integrate provisioning workflows with backup tools, monitoring agents, exporters, logging agents, etc. - Troubleshoot provisioning failures and optimize automation for speed, reliability, and idempotency. - Collaborate with DBAs, Infrastructure, DevOps, and Cloud teams to define standardized provisioning patterns. - Maintain documentation, architecture diagrams, and best practices for DB automation processes.Required SkillsAutomation & IaC- Strong experience with Terraform (modules, workspaces, state management). - Expert in Ansible (playbooks, roles, inventories, orchestration). - Hands-on with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI). - Scripting knowledge: Shell / Python (added advantage).Database Expertise- Experience automating provisioning/configuration for at least two of: - PostgreSQL - Oracle - MySQL / MariaDB - MongoDB - Understanding of DB clustering, HA, replication, users/roles, backup/restore mechanisms.Platform Skills- Strong experience with on-prem infrastructure: - Storage (SAN/NAS/LVM) - Networking (VLAN, firewall, DNS) - Virtualization (VMware/KVM) - OS provisioning (Linux) - Experience with Cloud IaaS (AWS/Azure/GCP) VM, VPC, security groups, volumes.Integration Experience- Backup tools (NetBackup, Commvault, RMAN, pgBackRest, etc.) - Monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, OEM, etc.)Good to Have- Kubernetes / Helm / Operators for DB workloads. - Experience in SRE / DevOps environments. - Knowledge of REST APIs and automation frameworks.Soft Skills- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. - Ability to work cross-functionally with Infra, DBA, and Cloud teams. - Excellent documentation and communication.Interested Apply or refer!shalini.v@
