The candidate will provide operational and legal support to the legal division of a global engineering professional services company, with a primary focus on reviewing and negotiating construction industry contracts.The candidate must be organised, display excellent written/communication skills and have the ability to apply independent judgment.Should have a law degree and 5+ years relevant experience in the construction industry, preferably working with multinational construction industry- Responsible for reviewing a full range of contracts and associated documents. - Providing clear and concise feedback on contract risks and conduct follow up calls with colleagues to discuss, where required in a timely manner. - Proactively managing and leading negotiations. - Establishing and maintaining good professional relationships with the business, as well as with external parties such as clients and their legal counsel. - Maintain appropriate awareness of the legislative and regulatory environment relating to key aspects of WSP’s current operations companies.Qualifications- Qualified lawyer with 5+ years legal experience developed by working in a reputable law firm or in an in-house legal team specialising in construction law. - Proficient in English (oral and written). - Experienced in negotiating complex commercial agreements. - Highly developed communication skills. - Highest Ethical Standards - Ability to act commercially and to appropriately balance commercial and operational imperatives with legal risk. - Ability to work as a member of a team and bring to the team initiative, energy and enthusiasm. - Ability to work independently and report to manager as required. - Exposure to United Kingdom clients desirable.
