Job Summary We are seeking a highly competent Manager – IPR to lead and manage intellectual property initiatives within our organization. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in patents, regulatory requirements, and IP strategy, particularly in the API and specialty chemicals sectors.Key Responsibilities: 1. IP evaluation and clearance of APIs/Key Starting Materials (KSMs), ROS received from in-house & outside suppliers. 2. Conducting Freedom-to-operate (FTO) analysis for different markets. 3. Preparation of Invalidation Strategies for constraining patents related to API. 4. Good command on patentability analysis, patent drafting and filing at various patent offices. 5. Preparation of responses for the examination reports of patent offices. 6. Experience in literature search and preparation of IP summary reports for APIs. 7. Answering IP related queries received from in-house & outside customers. 8. Stay updated on industrial regulations and legal developments related to patents. 9. Thorough understanding of organic reactions, spectroscopy, stereochemistry & polymorph evaluation etc. 10. Well exposure in review of attorney documents, notice letter(s), complete response letter(s) etc. 11. Experience in using Iqvia, Scifinder and other freely available databases. 12. Support product development by providing timely IP inputs to relevant stakeholders (RA, R&D etc.) to ensure smooth product launch. 13. Provide insights in patent litigation and opposition to align with product strategy in a cost- effective manner 14. Undertake due diligence of products to apprise stakeholders about key patent rights to identify acquisition or early launch potential. 15. Prepare reports and documentation for filing Third party observations (TPO), pre-grant and post-grant opposition as and when required. 16. Identify new product opportunities for driving portfolio selection and evaluate innovative ideas to identify new opportunities for patent protection/ development for differentiated product 17. Conduct patent search in order to determine patentable inventions and consequently file and prosecute patent applications for augmenting and bolstering patent estate. 18. Lead due diligence activity for products of interest to apprise stakeholders about the value proposition in acquiring / licensing/ the product from IP standpoint for M&A deals 19. Work closely with R&D, marketing, and business development teams to protect innovations and assess market opportunities. Train and mentor team members on IP best practices.Qualifications MSc. /PhD (Chemistry), M.Pharm/PhD (Medicinal Chemistry) or a related field. Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in IPR, with a focus on API or specialty chemicals. Good to have knowledge or experienced in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software, Embedded system or a related field. Additional qualifications in intellectual property (e.g., PGDIPR, Patent Agent) are preferred.
