The company is committed to excellence, innovation, sustainability, and ensuring the highest standards of workplace safety and environmental stewardship.Position OverviewThe Chief SHE Officer will lead, develop, and implement the company’s Safety, Health & Environment strategy across all projects and operations. This role requires a proven leader with demonstrated experience in establishing world-class SHE systems in large infrastructure, construction, or engineering environments. The position will oversee all SHE initiatives, regulatory compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement to create a Zero-Incident culture.Key Responsibilities1. Strategic Leadership- Develop and implement the SHE vision, mission, and long-term strategic roadmap for the organization. - Advise senior management and project heads on SHE policies, risk mitigation, and compliance. - Drive a culture of safety excellence across all sites and corporate offices.2. SHE Governance & Compliance- Ensure full compliance with national and state regulations (Factories Act, Environment Protection Act, OHS norms, Maharashtra State Pollution Control Board guidelines, etc.). - Maintain and update all SHE documentation, policies, manuals, and SOPs. - Liaise with local authorities, statutory bodies, and auditors.3. Risk Assessment & Management- Lead hazard identification (HAZID), risk assessment (HIRA), and environmental impact assessments. - Oversee emergency preparedness, response planning, and implementation of control measures. - Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.4. SHE Operations & Monitoring- Implement and monitor SHE programs at all project sites in Mumbai and other regions. - Ensure timely SHE performance reporting, data analytics, and KPI tracking. - Conduct regular site audits, surprise inspections, toolbox talks, and safety drills.5. Training & Capacity Building- Design and execute SHE training programs for employees, contractors, and workers. - Strengthen behavioral-based safety and continuous learning initiatives. - Promote safety awareness through campaigns, workshops, and communication programs.6. Stakeholder Management- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and consultants to ensure SHE compliance. - Evaluate contractor SHE performance and enforce SHE standards in contracts.7. Sustainability & Environmental Protection- Lead sustainability initiatives including waste management, resource efficiency, pollution control, and environmental conservation. - Ensure compliance with environmental monitoring and reporting requirements.Required Qualifications & Experience- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) or Environmental Sciences; - Master’s degree in Safety, Environment, or Industrial Engineering preferred. - 10+ years of experience in Safety, Health & Environment roles, preferably in Infrastructure, EPC, Construction, or Industrial Projects. - Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, or equivalent are highly desirable. - Demonstrated experience managing SHE teams and implementing large-scale SHE programs. - Strong knowledge of Indian SHE regulations, codes, and compliance standards. - Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
