Job Description – Safety HeadAssistant General Manager – SafetyLocation: Mumbai Head OfficeBranches: Pune & BangaloreExperience Required: 15 – 18 YearsQualification: BE / B.Tech / Diploma – Electrical + ADIS / Safety Certification (Mandatory/Highly Preferred)Salary: CTC - Up to ₹21 LPA1. Position OverviewThe Assistant General Manager – Safety will lead the organization’s safety function across multiple electrical turnkey projects nationwide. The role demands strong leadership, technical safety knowledge, and the ability to manage a large team of Safety Officers deployed across various sites. The incumbent will be responsible for enforcing safety compliance, driving safety culture, conducting audits, and ensuring adherence to statutory and client safety requirements.2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Leadership & Team Management- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of 70–90+ Safety Officers across India. - Develop competency enhancement programs, training schedules, and performance evaluation systems for the team. - Ensure manpower planning, deployment, and timely recruitment of safety personnel for projects. - Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and proactive risk identification.B. Safety Governance & Compliance- Ensure full compliance with statutory safety norms, Electricity Rules, IS standards, and relevant codes applicable to electrical projects. - Develop, implement, and continuously improve Safety Management Systems (SMS). - Conduct periodic project/site safety audits and issue corrective/preventive actions. - Review and approve Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Method Statements, and High-Risk Activity Plans for electrical works (HT/LT installation, cable pulling, panel erection, energisation, etc.). - Monitor incident/accident reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, and closure of CAPA.C. Client Management & Coordination- Attend client/consultant safety review meetings at project sites or via online platforms. - Ensure adherence to client-specific safety requirements and support tender/bid teams for safety documentation. - Address escalations, highlight critical safety issues, and provide professional solutions to improve client satisfaction.D. Recruitment & Talent Development- Actively participate in hiring and onboarding Safety Officers and Safety Engineers. - Coordinate with HR for building a robust safety talent pipeline. - Develop structured training modules (induction, refresher, hazard-specific trainings) for new and existing safety staff.E. Site Visits & Field Operations- Conduct regular site visits across ongoing projects (PAN-India) to review safety performance and compliance. - Provide guidance on high-risk operations, tool inspections, PPE usage, LOTO procedures, permit systems, and electrical safety protocols. - Ensure emergency preparedness at sites (mock drills, rescue plans, first-aid processes).F. Documentation & Reporting- Prepare MIS reports, monthly safety dashboards, incident statistics, audit reports, and compliance trackers for management review. - Ensure statutory documentation, client safety formats, and internal records are maintained accurately. - Support ISO audits, customer audits, and internal QHSE audits.3. Required Skills & Competencies- Strong knowledge of electrical safety, construction site safety, and compliance standards. - Proven ability to handle and lead large multi-location teams (70–90 people). - Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills for client interactions. - Strong analytical ability for risk assessment and incident investigation. - Ability to draft SOPs, checklists, training modules, and safety documents. - Willingness to travel across sites as per project requirements. - Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), safety management tools, and reporting formats.4. Preferred Qualifications- BE/B.Tech (Electrical) or Diploma (Electrical) - ADIS (Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety) / NEBOSH / Equivalent Safety Certifications - Experience in large-scale Electrical EPC / MEP / Construction projects - Exposure to ISO 45001 & 9001 systems5. Compensation & Benefits- Salary: CTC Up to ₹21 Lakhs Per Annum (based on experience and competency) - Performance-based incentives (if applicable) - Medical insurance and statutory benefits as per company policy - Travel allowances for site visits6.
