The role drives energy-saving, sustainability initiatives, and cost-optimized engineering practices, while enhancing operational excellence, safety standards, and long-term asset value through disciplined planning, innovation, and high-performing teamsKEY ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPSReports to: CEO – DLF HospitalityReporting Roles: Engineering Heads, Deputy ManagersInteracts with:External - Contractors, OEMs, service providers, statutory bodies, regulatory agenciesInternal - Finance, Operations, Projects, Engineering, F&B, Legal, HRKEY RESPONSIBILITIESDrive Operational Excellence- Oversee day-to-day engineering operations across the unit to ensure smooth functioning of all technical systems. - Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimise equipment downtime. - Strengthen SOPs, checklists, and audit preparedness to maintain consistent engineering standards. - Ensure timely resolution of technical issues to support guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.Strategic Sourcing & Cost Optimization- Evaluate and onboard vendors and contractors while ensuring quality, compliance, and cost effectiveness. - Implement energy-saving and sustainable cost-optimisation initiatives to reduce consumption and operational expenses. - Monitor engineering budgets, AMC costs, and procurement expenses to enhance financial discipline. - Review asset performance and recommend replacement or refurbishment to optimise lifecycle costs.People Management- Lead, supervise, and mentor engineering teams to ensure accountability and strong performance. - Drive technical training, safety awareness, and skill enhancement initiatives for the team. - Oversee manpower planning, daily task allocation, and shift management. - Conduct performance evaluations and support team development and succession planning.Business and Financial Acumen- Support budgeting, forecasting, and Capex planning for engineering operations. - Analyse utility bills, equipment efficiency, and cost trends to recommend financial improvements. - Prepare timely MIS reports and updates for management review. - Ensure resource optimisation through effective planning of materials, spares, and inventory.Leadership- Demonstrate strong decision-making, crisis response, and problem-solving capabilities. - Foster collaboration with leadership, operations, and support departments. - Champion a culture of discipline, ownership, and continuous improvement within the engineering team. - Lead by example in adherence to safety, compliance, and operational excellence standards.Compliance & Risk Management- Ensure adherence to statutory, regulatory, and organisational engineering guidelines. - Maintain accurate documentation, certifications, and inspection records for compliance audits. - Conduct risk assessments and implement preventive and corrective action plans. - Oversee contractor compliance, safety adherence, and quality of executed work.Occupational Health & Safety Responsibilities- Enforce OH&S standards, safe work practices, and preventive safety measures across the unit. - Implement equipment safety protocols including lockout-tagout and emergency procedures. - Conduct regular safety audits, toolbox talks, and hazard identification exercises. - Ensure timely closure of safety gaps and maintain a safe working environment for all.QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Civil). - Additional certifications in Energy Management, Sustainability, or Facilities Management preferredWORK EXPERIENCE- 15–20 years of progressive engineering/facilities experience in hospitality, real estate, or large-format operations, including 5–7 years in a senior leadership role.
