Ltd. is the Indian subsidiary of HEI Technology International GmbH, operating from ASPIRE – IIT Bombay Research Park as our R&D and Innovation Centre.To expand our design and product development capabilities, we are looking for a:System Design Engineer – Solar Street Lighting & IoT Solutions (m/f/d)Full-time Position | Location - ASPIRE – IIT Bombay Research Park, MumbaiAs a System Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical development of solar-powered street lighting and IoT solutions. You will work closely with product development, electronics, mechanical engineering, and external suppliers to create reliable, scalable, and high-performance eco-friendly solutions.YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES- System development: Design and develop innovative smart solar mast systems using a combination of HEI products and third-party components. - Market research: Conduct technical market research to identify suitable external components and emerging technologies for system enhancement. - Specification development: Define and document technical requirements and specifications for new or improved HEI “make” products based on system-level insights. - Technology integration: Define, evaluate, and integrate third-party control electronics, communication systems, and sensor technologies into HEI solutions. - Validation and testing: Plan and execute validation procedures for third-party components, ensuring performance, reliability, and compatibility with HEI systems. - Prototyping: Lead or support prototyping activities, including system assembly, integration, and functional testing. - Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with electronics, mechanical, and software teams to ensure seamless system integration and optimization. - Documentation: Maintain clear technical documentation including system schematics, specifications, test reports, and design justifications. - Configure system architectures using HEI’s modular hardware platforms to meet varying customer and application needs. - Support field trials, pilot deployments, and on-site performance evaluations when required.YOUR QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, systems engineering, or a related field. - Experience in system-level design, component selection, and integration of electronic and communication subsystems. - Strong understanding of solar energy systems, battery storage, and power electronics fundamentals. - Hands-on experience with prototyping and validation testing. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - Strong communication and documentation abilities. - Familiarity with industrial quality and safety standards.WHAT WE OFFER- Full-time, permanent role with high creative autonomy. - Work closely with international teams and global product leadership. - Innovative and unique sustainable greentech products with a high market potential. - A high degree of personal responsibility - Exposure to leading research and innovation through our presence at IIT Bombay Research Park. - Competitive performance-based compensation: Indicative range INR 10–16 LPA, aligned with experience and expertise (with flexibility for exceptional candidates) - A modern, collaborative work environment focused on innovation and impact.APPLICATION PROCESSIf you’re interested, please apply through LinkedIn Easy Apply and send the following to office@ with the subject line “ – Application-":- CV / Resume - Portfolio or work samples (if applicable) - Brief note on your relevant experience and your motivation for joining HEIEmail your application to: office@Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview (online or in person), followed by a second round for deeper evaluation.
