This role is ideal for a hands-on marine technical professional seeking a shore-based leadership role that ensures vessels operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance.Job SummaryThe Technical Superintendent will provide day-to-day shore support to assigned container vessels by managing their technical, operational, maintenance, and compliance requirements. This role ensures vessels are maintained safely and economically while meeting company standards, class requirements, and international regulations. You will act as a key link between ship and shore, ensuring seamless vessel operations, minimal downtime, and stakeholder satisfaction.What Will You Do? (Roles & Responsibilities)Technical & Operational Management- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for assigned vessels, supporting Masters and Chief Engineers. - Oversee day-to-day technical and operational matters including maintenance, repairs, surveys, inspections, and supply of spares/stores. - Ensure all machinery and equipment are well maintained and PMS schedules are strictly followed. - Maintain vessels in an incident-free state and escalate any noteworthy deviations to management. - Conduct vessel performance analysis using data shared by onboard teams. - Ensure timely procurement and delivery of essential stores, spares, and services.Regulatory Compliance & Surveys- Ensure all vessel certifications and class documentation are kept current at all times. - Attend vessels during surveys, audits, and inspections as required. - Strive for minimum or nil observations from third-party inspections.Budgeting & Cost Control- Monitor and manage operang expenses within the approved budget without compromising safety. - Prepare and review repair, maintenance, and dry-docking budgets.Dry Docking & Maintenance Planning- Formulate long-term maintenance plans in alignment with company standards. - Plan and supervise dry docking, surveys, and major repairs; prepare repair specifications and post-docking reports summarizing work done, costs, and variances. - Ensure strict adherence to the planned maintenance system.Reporting & Stakeholder Communication- Maintain regular communication with shipowners, Masters, and Chief Engineers regarding vessel performance, maintenance issues, costs, and operational matters. - Provide detailed advice on fuel analysis and lube oil analysis reports upon receipt from laboratories. - Coordinate with surveyors, contractors, and internal departments to ensure smooth operations.Risk, Safety & Compliance- Lead incident and accident investigations, prepare reports, and implement corrective and preventive actions. - Initiate, follow up, and close out Management of Change (MOC) for critical tasks, vessel modifications, or new engineering installations after risk assessment.Qualifications- MEO Class I – COC (Mandatory) - Must have sailed as Chief Engineer (Container vessels) - Experience Required: 0–2 years shore-based - Good knowledge of Microsoft Office & reporting systemsWhat’s on Offer?• Competitive salary package• Opportunity to contribute to safe, sustainable, and high-performance fleet operations• Career growth in a globally recognized vessel management environmentApply NowIf you are ready to take the next step in your maritime career, send your CV to roohi@ or contact Roohi Mehta at +65 8725 9801.
