Job Description

Head - Logistics & OperationsThis senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing and managing all operational and logistics activities across India. The primary objective is to ensure that all activities are efficient, compliant, and profitable. The role involves strategic oversight of operations, the domestic supply chain, and distribution, combined with driving operational excellence across various departments.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Logistics Management- Develop and implement strategies, policies, and procedures to streamline processes and achieve business goals. - Drive continuous improvement to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve quality. - Manage transportation, terminals/warehousing, and distribution for timely and cost-effective delivery. - Analyze logistics networks and recommend improvements for efficiency and cost savings. - Negotiate and manage contracts with carriers and logistics service providers. - Collaborate with trading, sales, compliance, finance, and treasury teams to align operations with organizational goals. - Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in all logistics activities.Leadership & Financial Oversight- Recruit, lead, train, and mentor teams across operations and logistics. - Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. - Develop and manage budgets for operations and logistics. - Prepare regular reports on performance, cost control, and KPIs for senior management. - Establish and track KPIs for operations, inventory, and service delivery.Qualifications & Competencies- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. - Experience: 10+ years in Trading/Marine operations and logistics, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.Skills:- Strong knowledge of supply chain and operational best practices. - Financial acumen and budget responsibility. - Leadership, people management, and team-building capabilities. - Proficiency in ERP and logistics management systems.
