Job Description -We are looking for 2 to 4 years of experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize databases supporting our Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Production Scheduling Interface (PSI) applications. This role ensures high availability, security, and performance of Oracle environments critical to manufacturing operations.Rolesand ResponsibilitiesDatabase Administration & Operations- Install, configure, and maintain Oracle Autonomous DB and Oracle Databases for MES and PSI systems. - Manage and maintain Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and ASM environments to ensure high availability and robust failover capabilities. - Oversee lifecycle management activities including patching, upgrades, and security fixes for Oracle databases and associated components. - Implement proactive monitoring, alerting, and automated health checks to ensure database performance and reliability. - Perform capacity planning and forecasting for compute, storage, and database utilization and continuously improve backup and recovery strategies and corresponding SOPsPerformance Engineering & Optimization- Design schemas, data models, and optimized data structures tailored for manufacturing workflows. - Conduct performance tuning for MES/PSI applications and resolve database, SQL, and infrastructure bottlenecks. - Ensure optimal performance of SQL, PL/SQL, and interfacing workloads across MES/PSI modules.Security, Compliance & Governance- Manage role-based access control, user privileges, and enforce database security policies. - Implement and maintain database security controls including encryption, auditing, and data masking. - Ensure compliance with internal audit requirements, regulatory guidelines, and industry standards. - Maintain comprehensive technical documentation including architecture diagrams, SOPs, and runbooks.Automation & Continuous Improvement- Develop automation scripts (Shell/Python/Ansible) for provisioning, monitoring, patching, and routine DBA processes. - Recommend enhancements and drive improvements across database architecture, monitoring, and automation frameworks. - Support CI/CD integration for database deployments within the MES/PSI ecosystem.Cross-functional Collaboration & Support- Collaborate closely with MES/PSI application teams to ensure seamless integration and efficient data flow. - Coordinate with infrastructure teams (storage, network, OS, virtualization) for end-to-end DB operations. - Provide incident and problem management support via ServiceNow or other tools. - Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and implement permanent corrective actions. - Participate in on-call rotation and provide 24/7 support for mission-critical manufacturing systems. - Participate in architecture reviews, capacity reviews, and security assessments as the database SME.Preferred Skills -- Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix environments, including shell scripting (Bash, KSH, or equivalent). - Exposure to cloud-based Oracle solutions such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Azure Oracle Database Service, or hybrid DB architectures. (mid level) - Experience with automation tools (Python, Ansible) for operational efficiency. - Familiarity with CI/CD processes for database deployments. - Certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Oracle Autonomous Database Specialist, or other relevant Oracle credentials (good to have). - Understanding of IT security frameworks and compliance standards relevant to manufacturing environments.Academic Background -- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field. - Proven hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA within manufacturing, industrial, or similar high-availability environments. - Strong knowledge of PL/SQL, Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and advanced performance tuning techniques. (Good to have) - Expertise in backup and recovery strategies, including RMAN, and disaster recovery planning/execution. (Good to have) - Working knowledge of MES/PSI systems, manufacturing workflows, and related data models.
