Brand Manager / Operator – Calling June & MaeLocation: GurgaonExperience: 6–12+ yearsPreferred Background: Senior roles at Myntra, Ajio Luxe, Nykaa Fashion, or fast-growing D2C/retail brands in IndiaRole OverviewWe are looking for a dynamic Brand Manager / Operator to drive the next stage of growth for Calling June, and to launch and establish Mae in the Indian retail market. This is a high-ownership role that blends brand building, commercial scaling, performance marketing, retail understanding, and team leadership.The ideal candidate has strong experience in India’s fashion/retail ecosystem, understands how to grow a premium brand, and has the drive to build teams and processes from the ground up.Key Responsibilities 1. Brand Growth & Commercial Ownership- Own top-line revenue for Calling June and Mae across all channels. - Build clear growth plans aligned to collection calendars, seasonal demand, and category priorities. - Work closely with founders on pricing, merchandising, and retail expansion strategy.2. Marketing & Agency Management (Phase 1)- Manage relationships with current performance, creative, and influencer agencies. - Evaluate agency output and drive them toward measurable ROI. - Oversee campaign planning across Meta, Google, influencer partnerships, WhatsApp, and email.3. Build In-House Capability (Phase 2)- Over time, hire and nurture an internal team across performance marketing, content, and community. - Set up internal processes for campaign briefing, content creation, analytics, and brand storytelling. - Establish a strong brand voice and creative direction across platforms.4. Retail & E-Commerce Expertise- Leverage deep understanding of apparel retail in India—consumer behavior, assortment strategy, price ladders, and channel dynamics. - Support expansion into retail (pop-ups, own stores, key account partnerships). - Work with marketplace partners if required for scale.5. Data, Insights & Decision Making- Build dashboards and reporting frameworks for CAC, ROAS, sell-through, retention, and new vs returning customers. - Use data to guide creative testing, product strategy, and marketing budgets.6. Leadership & Talent Development- Hire, mentor, and retain a high-performance team across brand, content, and performance. - Establish a culture of accountability, speed, and creativity. - Ensure teams operate in alignment with brand values and business objectives.Preferred Candidate Profile- Experience at Myntra, Ajio Luxe, Tata Cliq Luxury, Nykaa Fashion, Reliance Brands, or high-growth D2C fashion brands. - Strong understanding of Indian retail + online fashion landscape. - Demonstrated experience scaling a brand through digital + retail channels. - Hands-on operator with analytical depth and excellent storytelling ability. - Proven capability to build and lead a team from scratch. - Strong commercial mindset and bias for action. - Passion for fashion, branding, and consumer experience.Why This Role Is High Impact- Calling June is entering its hyper-growth phase. - Mae is a new brand with significant potential and backing. - You will be the person who shapes how these brands grow in India commercially, creatively, and organisationally. - Rare opportunity to own multiple brands, build a team, and influence strategy end-to-end.
