Job Description

Role OverviewWe are looking for a Partner - Capital Markets Practice for one of our clients( a boutique law firm) based in Mumbai. You will be responsible for building and scaling a capital markets franchise across equity, debt, and structured products. While an existing client book is not required at the time of onboarding, the role demands strong business development muscle, market connectivity, and the ability to develop a sustainable book of issuers, investors, and transactions over time.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Franchise Building (Core Focus)Originate new capital markets opportunities across ECM, DCM, private placements, structured products, and capital raisesBuild relationships with promoters, corporates, PE/VC funds, family offices, HNIs, and institutional investorsDevelop and execute market coverage and origination strategiesCreate and scale a proprietary book of clients and deals over timeDrive repeat transactions through long-term client relationshipsTransaction Execution & AdvisoryWork closely with internal execution teams on deal structuring, pricing, and closuresCoordinate with legal, compliance, and regulatory teams for smooth executionSupport end-to-end deal lifecycle from origination to closureMarket Intelligence & StrategyTrack capital market trends, valuation benchmarks, and investor appetiteAdvise clients on optimal capital structures, timing, and instrumentsProvide strategic inputs on new products and market opportunitiesGovernance & ComplianceEnsure adherence to SEBI regulations, exchange norms, and internal policiesMaintain high standards of ethics, transparency, and client confidentialityRequired Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Law10-15 years of experienceMBA (Finance), CA, CFA, or equivalent professional qualificationStrong understanding of Indian capital markets and SEBI regulationsExperience in investment banking, capital markets, brokerage, or advisoryKey Skills & CompetenciesStrong BD / origination mindset with partner-level ownershipAbility to build a book from scratch over timeExcellent relationship-building and negotiation skillsCommercial acumen with compliance-first thinkingStrong communication and deal-closing capabilities
