Manager – Engineering Patent SearchingWe are looking for an experienced Manager – Engineering Patent Searching to lead a high-performing IP research team. This role involves managing large teams, delivering complex patent research projects, handling global clients, and ensuring high-quality outcomes across IP services.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage a team of ~25 IP professionals in the Engineering domainDeliver end-to-end IP research services including:Patentability (novelty) and validity searchesFreedom-to-Operate (FTO) and infringement analysisPatent portfolio analysis, SWOT, and monetization supportLitigation, prosecution, and office action supportIP due diligence and patent claim mappingInteract with clients to define project scope and present clear, actionable insightsConduct patent landscape and trend analysis for strategic and licensing opportunitiesReview patents from technical, legal, and commercial perspectivesEnsure timely delivery, quality control, and client satisfactionDrive team performance, mentoring, and developmentManage key client accounts and support business growth initiativesExperience Required8–10 years of experience in IP research and consultingStrong experience in project delivery, client handling, and team leadershipPrior experience managing medium to large teams (20+ members)Hands-on exposure to patent search, analysis, and landscape projectsSkills & CompetenciesStrong written and verbal communication skillsHigh ownership, accountability, and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple projects under tight timelinesAdaptability to new technologies and IP processesTechnical SkillsExpertise in patent search tools and online databasesGood understanding of global patent laws and systemsProficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and reporting toolsStrong documentation and analytical reporting skillsEducationB.Tech / M.Tech in Mechanical, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering
