It supports various teams and functions across Delta and is an integral part of our transformation agenda, working seamlessly with a global team to create memorable experiences for customers.The successful candidate will serve as an Engineering Manager within the TechOps Engineering organization at DTH Bangalore working closely with the Fleet Engineering department in Atlanta, GA, USA. The responsibilities of Fleet Engineering Manager will include, but are not limited to, the following: Leads a technically diverse engineering team (including Systems, Structures, Operations) and data analysts. Responsible for providing leadership and supervision to Fleet Engineers and Data Analysts. Responsible for day-to-day operations & deliverables, resource management, stakeholder management, work assignments, problem-solving, decision-making, customer support, and communications regarding the tactical and strategic execution of initiatives and objectives in relation to the Delta Fleet Engineering team. Monitors Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) guidance and mandates, improves fleet reliability, and provides aircraft engineering support to internal customers and suppliers to support daily operations. Drives reliability improvements or regulatory requirements by leading or supporting investigations and project development. Provides development and training guidance and opportunities for team members. Partners with internal and external fleet stakeholders, including Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) for Operational requirements, Quality, Safety and Regulatory Compliance. Responsible for defining and maintaining and improving the configuration, reliability, and maintenance program of their assigned aircraft structures and systems. Responsible for ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and Delta procedures regarding the issuance of, as well as maintaining surveillance over the accomplishment of, engineering documentation improvements to ensure that risks are properly managed. Responsible for providing the approval authority on engineering documentation related to assigned equipment/responsibilities. Provides guidance for technical direction of assigned equipment/responsibilities including development and maintenance of Reliability Program technical requirements definition and Maintenance Programs. Responsible for development of technical recommendations/justifications in support of corrective action plans for various FAA/QA/CASS audit findings. Responsible for ensuring that proper training, both Delta and Technical, is provided for each employee. Represents Delta interests on various industry committees and OEM activities. Responsible for ensuring that the Safety program is maintained within the department and the CASS program, Reliability, and Maintenance Programs are complied with according to the requirements of TOPP. Develops both strategic and tactical plans that create a safety-conscious environment that results in employee safety and wellbeing.Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical aviation related discipline experience in an aviation engineering organization (Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering). 12+ Years of experience working within Fleet Engineering in the Airline/Aircraft OEM Industry Extensive industry and regulatory interfaces. Familiarity with airline flight operations and support systems and FAR 121 regulations. Knowledge of Technical Operations policies and procedures preferred. Ability to communicate to a diverse audience in various formal and informal environments. Ability to analyze incomplete information and implement timely decision making while mitigating risk factors. Must be able to develop and direct a fleet support strategy, communicate with internal/external partners and leaders, and develop strong partnerships with key stakeholders. Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and flexible to support the Delta’s global operation. Must have previous leadership experience and should have held “People Management” Roles. Green Belt certification or experience with process improvement methodologies. Strong data analytics skills, reviewing big data and driving logical decisions making based on data insights & trends Prior experience on performing Root Cause Analysis and driving fleet performance improvements
