Mangalam University invites applications for the position of Faculty in Parametric Architecture to teach and mentor students in the Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) program.The role aims to strengthen the school’s focus on computational design, digital fabrication, and emerging technologies in the built environment. The ideal candidate will bridge academic rigor with industry-relevant practice in parametric and generative design processes.Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Mentorship- Deliver engaging courses in parametric architecture, computational design, and digital modeling tools (e.g., Grasshopper, Rhino, Revit Dynamo). - Mentor B.Arch students in studio projects integrating algorithmic and sustainable design principles. - Guide research and project work related to digital fabrication and performance-driven design.Academic & Curriculum Development- Contribute to curriculum design incorporating advanced design computation and emerging architectural technologies. - Integrate interdisciplinary approaches combining architecture, planning, engineering, and digital technologies. - Develop assignments, studio briefs, and workshops that reflect contemporary professional practices.Industry Linkages & Research- Collaborate with design and construction firms adopting computational workflows. - Initiate or support research projects, publications, and exhibitions in parametric or generative design. - Participate in training programs, seminars, and design competitions representing the university.Qualifications and RequirementsEducational Qualifications- Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) – Mandatory. - Master’s degree in Architecture, Planning, or Technology (M.Arch / M.Plan / M.Tech) – Essential. - D. (awarded or pursuing) in Architecture, Planning, or a related domain – Preferred.Experience- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in architectural practice, focusing on computational or digital design methods. - Prior academic or training experience will be an advantage.Skills and Expertise- Proficiency in parametric and computational design software such as Rhino + Grasshopper, Dynamo, Python scripting, and BIM tools. - Strong design communication and visualization skills. - Innovative approach to problem-solving and sustainable design. - Ability to engage students through research-driven and experiential pedagogy.
