We’re a product-driven company backed by experienced engineers, designers, and entrepreneurs, and are now expanding our QA team to ensure every feature is rock-solid before it reaches our users.About the RoleWe’re looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Manual QA Engineer with a strong understanding of mobile and web app testing. You’ll be responsible for manually testing the messaging app across platforms, reporting bugs, verifying fixes, and ensuring the product delivers a seamless and reliable user experience. This role is critical in maintaining the quality, stability, and user trust of a platform that handles real-time communication and sensitive information.Key Responsibilities 1. Test Planning & Case Design● Analyze feature requirements and create detailed test plans, test scenarios, and test cases for mobile (Android/iOS) and web platforms.● Define edge cases and negative scenarios to ensure robustness and reliability. 2. Functional & Regression Testing● Perform manual testing of chat features, notifications, media sharing, group messaging, and encryption flows.● Run regression tests before every release to ensure core features remain intact.● Validate UI/UX across devices and platforms. 3. Bug Reporting & Reproduction● Identify, document, and prioritize bugs using tools like Jira or Bugzilla.● Reproduce and clearly describe issues, including steps to replicate, screenshots, and logs if needed.● Work closely with developers to validate fixes and retest resolved issues. 4. Cross-Platform & Cross-Device Testing● Test features across Android, iOS, and Web to ensure consistent functionality.● Validate behavior under different network conditions, device types, and screen sizes. 5. User Acceptance Testing (UAT)● Assist product owners and stakeholders during UAT phases.● Help ensure that each release meets business requirements and provides a great user experience. 6. Test Documentation & Reporting● Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation of test plans, cases, and test execution results.● Generate test reports and quality metrics for internal use. Required Qualifications● 3+ years of experience in manual testing of web and mobile applications.● Strong understanding of software testing life cycle (STLC) and defect life cycle.● Experience testing real-time apps or messaging/chat applications is highly desirable.● Familiarity with testing on both Android and iOS devices, as well as web browsers.● Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases and bug reports.● Hands-on experience with tools like Jira, TestRail, Postman, Charles Proxy, or Fiddler.● Knowledge of REST APIs and how to validate API responses using manual tools.● Good communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications● Prior experience working on a messaging app or communication product.● Understanding of network-level debugging, socket communication, or encryption flows (a plus).● Exposure to agile development processes and working in cross-functional teams.● Familiarity with localization/internationalization testing.● Experience in exploratory testing and usability testing.
