Job Description: Professor – Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) Position Title:Professor – ECE Department:Electronics & Communication Engineering Reporting To:Dean / Director of School of Engineering Location:Yelahanka, Rajanukunte, Bangalore 1. Role Summary The Professor of ECE will provide academic leadership through high-quality teaching, research excellence, programme development, and mentorship. The role involves advancing the department’s vision by fostering innovation in emerging ECE domains such as embedded systems, VLSI, wireless communication, signal processing, robotics, and IoT. 2. Key Responsibilities A. Teaching & Learning Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in core and advanced ECE subjects. Design and update course curriculum aligned with industry standards and accreditation requirements (NBA/NAAC). Develop laboratory modules, experiments, and innovative pedagogical practices. Guide students through capstone projects, mini projects, and internships. Use modern teaching tools and learning management systems. B. Research & Publications Conduct high-quality research leading to publications in Scopus/SCI/SCIE indexed journals. Secure funded research projects from national/international agencies (DST, AICTE, DRDO, SERB, ISRO, etc.). Present research at reputed conferences and organize workshops/symposia. Build collaborations with industry, research labs, and academic institutions. Guide PhD scholars, master’s thesis, and research interns. C. Academic Leadership & Administration Contribute to departmental strategy, academic planning, and accreditation processes. Lead academic committees, BOS/BOE activities, and quality assurance initiatives. Mentor faculty members and support their research development. Participate in university governance, policy development, and strategic initiatives. D. Industry & Community Engagement Build partnerships with companies for internships, projects, placements, and curriculum inputs. Facilitate industry-driven labs, MoUs, and consultancy assignments. Organize expert lectures, technical events, seminars, and hackathons. Engage in outreach programs, training, and community development initiatives. 3. Qualifications & Experience PhD in Electronics & Communication Engineeringor a closely related field (mandatory). Minimum10–12 years of teaching/research/industry experience , with at least 4 years at the Associate Professor level. Proven research record with high-quality publications (SCI/Scopus). Experience guiding PhD scholars (preferred). Demonstrated ability to secure funded research grants. Strong teaching, communication, and leadership skills. 4.
