Job Description – Alteryx SME (Presales, Training & Delivery)Role Type: Subject Matter Expert – Alteryx (Designer & Server)Location: MumbaiExperience: 10 - 15 years overall, with strong hands-on experience in AlteryxRole OverviewWe are looking for an Alteryx Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead customer-facing demos, conduct trainings, participate in discovery workshops, estimate efforts, and deliver end-to-end Alteryx solutions for our clients. The role combines presales, solution consulting, and technical delivery, with a strong focus on Alteryx Designer and Alteryx Server, along with Python, SQL and PySpark for advanced analytics and automation.Key Responsibilities :Presales & Customer Engagement- Conduct impactful Alteryx product demos and solution walkthroughs for prospects and customers. - Participate in discovery calls/workshops to understand client requirements, data landscape, and business objectives. - Translate business use cases into Alteryx-based solution approaches and high-level architectures. - Prepare effort estimates, solution sizing, and support proposal/RFP responses in collaboration with sales and delivery teams. - Build and showcase PoCs/accelerators to demonstrate value and feasibility.Training & Enablement- Design and deliver Alteryx Designer and Alteryx Server trainings (foundation to advanced) for customers and internal teams. - Create training content, Provide training, hands-on exercises, and best-practice guides. - Mentor junior team members on Alteryx, ETL concepts, and solution design.Solution Design & Delivery- Design, build, and optimize Alteryx workflows, macros, analytic apps and end-to-end data pipelines. - Implement Alteryx Server-based solutions including scheduling, user/workflow management, and governance. - Integrate Alteryx with databases (SQL, cloud data platforms, HDFS, OneDrive, etc.) and BI tools (Tableau / Power BI). - Use Python, SQL and PySpark for advanced data preparation, automation and analytics within or alongside Alteryx. - Support performance tuning, error handling, logging, and operationalization of workflows. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data engineers, BI developers, data scientists, domain SMEs) to deliver projects on time and with high quality.Client Success & Continuous Improvement- Work closely with clients to ensure adoption, usage, and value realization from Alteryx solutions. - Document solutions, create reusable components, and contribute to internal accelerators and best-practice repositories. - Stay updated on latest Alteryx features, certifications, and complementary technologies.Required Skills & Experience :- Strong hands-on expertise in Alteryx Designer: data preparation, blending, parsing, transformation, reporting, macros, analytic apps, In-DB tools, and automation. - Solid Alteryx Server experience: installation, configuration, user and workflow management, scheduling, data connections, and administration. - Proven experience in building production-grade ETL/ELT workflows and automated reporting solutions. - Strong knowledge of Python (for data cleaning, scripting, and analytics), SQL, and PySpark. - Good understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling basics, and performance optimization. - Experience integrating Alteryx with relational databases, cloud platforms, and BI tools (Tableau/Power BI preferred). - Excellent communication skills with ability to interact with business stakeholders, conduct demos, and lead trainings. - Prior experience in customer-facing / presales / solution consulting roles is a strong plus. - Ability to independently estimate efforts, plan deliveries, and own end-to-end solution outcomes.Certifications & Education (Must / Preferred)Must Have:- Alteryx Server Certification (Admin / Implementation – at least one, preferably both). - Strong Alteryx Designer certification track (e.g., Core / Advanced) – highly preferred. - Preferred: - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or related field. - Postgraduate or professional education in Data Science / Analytics is an added advantage.Personality & Work Style- Customer-centric mindset with strong ownership and accountability. - Comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex data scenarios. - Passion for teaching, mentoring, and enabling others on the Alteryx platform.
