Role PurposeThe Sr. Manager / Manager - Strategy & Growth will be a core member of the M&A Department, responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing new business opportunities that align with Waaree Energies’ long-term vision of becoming a diversified clean energy and power sector leader. The role demands strategic problem-solving, strong financial acumen, market intelligence, business case & planning, and cross-functional collaboration to drive growth across renewable sector.Key Responsibilities1. New Business Vertical Development & Strategic Initiatives- Identify, assess, and recommend new business opportunities in renewable energy, power infrastructure, and adjacent markets. - Conduct feasibility studies (market sizing, competitive benchmarking, financial viability) for new product categories and business verticals. - Support inorganic growth initiatives including M&A, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships. - Prepare investment memorandums, board notes, and presentations for the management and senior leadership.2. Market Research & Intelligence- Continuously monitor sectoral trends (solar, storage, transmission & distribution, EV, cables, smart meters, insulators, etc.). - Track competitor activities, policy/regulatory changes, and global technology shifts to inform business strategy. - Develop strategic insights and whitepapers to support executive decision-making.3. Business Planning & Execution Support- Work with business units to translate strategic opportunities into actionable plans. - Develop business models, go-to-market frameworks, and profitability analysis for new ventures. - Track and report progress of strategic initiatives to CMD’s office.4. Leadership Support- Act as a thought partner, preparing structured analysis, talking points, and briefing notes. - Coordinate cross-functional projects with finance, operations, legal, and marketing teams. - Drive strategic reviews, internal workshops, and offsites for senior leadership.Key Deliverables- Pipeline of evaluated new business opportunities aligned to Waaree’s diversification strategy. - Financial Analysis of Balance Sheets, P&L statements, calculate Enterprise Value and/ or drive a right value for acquisition of M&A or Green Field Business Case. - Detailed market intelligence reports and competitor benchmarking dashboards. - Robust business cases with financial and operational models. - Strategic presentations and recommendations for CMD and Board.Qualifications- MBA/PGDM from a Tier-1 B-School (IIM/ISB/XLRI/FMS/MDI or equivalent) majored in Finance and Engineering Graduate (Preferable in Electrical or Renewables or Electronics Engg.) - 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, or green field business development. - Strong understanding of energy, renewables, and infrastructure sectors (preferred).Skills & Competencies- Analytical excellence – ability of problem solving, build financial models (Business Case), and interpret Balance Sheet, P&L statements and other financial ratios for decision making. - Strategic mindset – foresight to identify emerging opportunities and evaluate risks. - Stakeholder management – ability to work closely with CXO’s and other senior leadership. - Execution orientation – converting strategies into actionable business outcomes. - Communication & presentation skills – ability to build compelling narratives for management. - High ownership, agility, and adaptability in a fast-changing business environment. - Delivered strategic outcomes under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations with direct exposure to top management
