Position – Lead UI/UX DesignerLocation- ChennaiRelevant Exp: 10 – 15yrs in Banking PreferredAbout the RoleResponsibilitiesHands-on Design Responsibilities- Champion principles of usability, accessibility, and user-centered design. - Apply knowledge of designing in an Agile environment while collaborating with cross-functional teams. - Conduct user research, stakeholder interviews, heuristic evaluations, and competitive analysis. - Develop user flows, journey maps, wireframes, page flows, and sitemaps. - Create high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, and UI assets aligned with style guides and brand standards. - Define and apply visual design principles, design language, typography, iconography, and motion/interaction design. - Recommend modern navigation patterns and support scalable information architecture. - Design and propose signature interaction patterns for web and native apps, validated through testing. - Revise and improve designs based on user feedback, usability testing, analytics, and technical feasibility. - Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure accurate implementation of design specifications. - Partner with QA/testing teams to define usability criteria and support user acceptance testing. - Create and maintain UX design specifications and documentation. - Leadership & Strategic Responsibilities - Provide vision and leadership for UI/UX strategy across products and platforms. - Drive the adoption of inclusive design practices aligned with accessibility standards (WCAG, ADA, EAA). - Act as a design advocate influencing product strategy, culture, and customer-first mindset. - Lead design workshops, design sprints, and brainstorming sessions with stakeholders. - Mentor and guide junior designers, offering feedback, training, and knowledge sharing. - Oversee and evolve the centralized design system/component library to ensure consistency. - Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Development Leads to align business goals with design outcomes. - Communicate design strategies and decisions effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Define and track UX success metrics (usability scores, NPS, conversion rates, etc.). - Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and emerging technologies and recommend adoption where beneficial. - Balance business goals, technical constraints, and user needs when driving design decisions.Qualifications- Education & Background - Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree or degree in Design, HCI, Interaction Design, Visual Communication, or related field. - 8–12 years of proven UI/UX design experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or senior design role.Required SkillsDesign Expertise- Strong command of user-centered design principles, usability, and accessibility (WCAG/ADA/EAA). - Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision, or equivalent. - Expertise in information architecture, interaction design, and responsive design across web and mobile platforms. - Ability to create wireframes, user flows, journey maps, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups. - Solid understanding of visual design systems, typography, color theory, iconography, and motion/animation design. - Research & Strategy - Hands-on experience conducting user research, usability testing, heuristic evaluations, and competitive analysis. - Ability to translate business requirements and user insights into scalable design strategies. - Familiarity with design thinking, design sprints, and agile methodologies.Leadership & Collaboration- Experience leading design teams, mentoring junior designers, and providing constructive feedback. - Strong collaboration skills to work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Engineering teams. - Skilled in stakeholder management and communicating design rationale to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Experience in building and maintaining a design system or component library for large-scale products.Technical & Analytical Skills- Working knowledge of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JS) to collaborate effectively with developers. - Familiarity with design-to-dev handoff tools (Zeplin, Figma Inspect, Storybook).Soft Skills- Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills. - Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities. - Ability to balance user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility in design solutions. - Proactive, adaptable, and able to thrive in fast-paced agile environments.
