Job Description

The objective of this role is to take up the responsibility for end-to-end planning, execution, monitoring and delivery of hospital infrastructure projects, including new hospital construction, expansion, renovation, equipment installation and facilities upgrades. The role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with healthcare standards, regulatory requirements, and quality & safety norms.Key Responsibilities:Project Planning & Strategy- Lead feasibility studies, master planning and project scoping for new hospitals, expansions, or modernization projects. - Develop project charters, timelines, budgets, and resource plans. - Coordinate with architects, consultants, PMCs and healthcare planners.Execution & Implementation- Oversee day-to-day project execution across civil, MEP, biomedical, IT, HVAC and interior workstreams. - Ensure compliance with NABH, JCI, FIRE NOC, BSL, electrical safety codes, and hospital engineering standards. - Monitor equipment procurement, installation, commissioning, and facility readiness.Vendor & Contractor Management- Evaluate and finalize contractors, suppliers, and consultants. - Negotiate contracts and ensure adherence to SLAs and project specifications. - Conduct regular site reviews to track progress and resolve bottlenecks.Budgeting & Cost Control- Prepare and manage CapEx budgets. - Track expenditures and approve vendor invoices within financial controls. - Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality and safety.Quality, Safety & Compliance- Implement hospital-specific engineering standards, infection control requirements, and statutory norms. - Ensure project sites maintain safety compliance (OSH, fire safety, medical facility regulations). - Review all design and engineering drawings for compliance.Stakeholder Management- Collaborate with hospital operations, medical services, biomedical engineering, IT and finance teams. - Provide regular updates to senior management and board members. - Facilitate smooth project handover to operations teams after commissioning.Risk Management- Identify and mitigate project risks, delays, and cost overruns. - Develop contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted progress.Team Leadership- Lead a multidisciplinary project team including engineers, planners, project managers, and coordinators. - Provide mentorship and performance guidance.Qualifications :- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering; MBA or PMP preferred. - 12–15 years of experience in project management, with at least 5+ years in the hospital/healthcare industry. - Proven track record delivering hospital construction/renovation projects.Strong knowledge of healthcare infrastructure, medical equipment workflow, MEP systems, and regulatory requirements.Key Skills- Project Management & Execution - Hospital Infrastructure Planning - Budgeting & Financial Control - Regulatory Compliance (NABH, JCI, Fire NOC, etc.) - Vendor & Contractor Management - Technical Knowledge (MEP, HVAC, biomedical, IT infrastructure) - Leadership & Stakeholder Communication - Risk & Quality Management
