This role is pivotal in ensuring that engineering intent is preserved while achieving manufacturability, cost targets, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage tooling readiness, and drive production ramp-up with precision and speed.Key ResponsibilitiesPrototype to Production Transition- Own the launch roadmap from initial prototype tooling to mass production readiness - Validate prototype tools for dimensional accuracy, process capability, and design intent - Define and execute tooling upgrade plans for production-grade molds, dies, and fixturesManufacturing Readiness- Lead pilot builds, line trials, and PPAP activities to ensure process stability - Collaborate with design, quality, and manufacturing teams to resolve DFM/DFA issues - Ensure alignment of BOM, process flow, and work instructions with production goalsTooling & Equipment Coordination- Oversee procurement, commissioning, and validation of production tooling and equipment - Manage vendor timelines for tool fabrication, modification, and handover - Drive MoldFlow, FEM, and DOE studies to optimize tooling performanceLaunch Governance & Reporting- Design of Process Sheets / P-FMEA - Develop and maintain launch dashboards, KPIs, and risk registers - Facilitate gate reviews, control plans, and change management processes - Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO, IATF, RDSO if applicable)-Qualifications- Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering - 8 15 years of experience in product launch, tooling, and production ramp-up - Strong knowledge of prototype tooling, injection molding, sheet metal, processes - Proficiency in SolidWorks, MoldFlow, MS Project, and APQP tools - Experience with PPAP, FMEA, control plans, and root cause analysis - Familiarity with PLM systems, ERP integration, and production documentation - Excellent cross-functional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills-Preferred Attributes- Experience in railway, automotive, or heavy engineering sectors - Exposure to RDSO specifications - Ability to manage multi-site launches and vendor development programs - Strategic mindset with hands-on execution capability
