Job Description

The Assistant Training Manager will drive capability development across assigned business units through a balanced mix of field coaching and structured classroom training. The role focuses on strengthening selling skills, product knowledge, onboarding, and execution excellence by partnering closely with Sales Leadership, Marketing, HR, and Commercial Excellence teams. The position plays a key role in building a strong coaching culture and improving overall field force effectiveness.Key Responsibilities1. Field Training Conduct joint field work with KAMs/FLMs to improve call quality, scientific communication, and in-clinic effectiveness.Provide structured on-the-job coaching and territory-based capability development.Identify skill/knowledge gaps through field assessments and implement action plans.Strengthen coaching culture by supporting FLMs in people development.2. Classroom / Virtual Training Conduct onboarding, induction, refresher, and capability-building workshops.Deliver sessions on products, communication skills, objection handling, and other soft skills.Develop and execute assessments, role plays, and certification processes.Create selling skills modules and training content as per business needs.3. Collaboration & Cross-Functional PartnershipWork with leadership teams to align on training needs and capability priorities.Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, HR, and other functions for smooth execution of training initiatives.Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency in messaging, onboarding, and capability-building efforts.Use inputs from SFE and other internal teams to incorporate field insights into training plans.4. Data-Driven Training Analyse SFE dashboards (medium proficiency) to identify training needs.Use data (reach, frequency, coverage, call quality) to build training plans and track post-training impact.Prepare monthly dashboards on training effectiveness and capability progress.5. New Joinee DevelopmentManage end-to-end onboarding and induction for all new hires in assigned divisions.Conduct territory immersions and support early capability building.Ensure timely completion of certifications and readiness evaluations.Skills & CompetenciesStrong facilitation & communication skillsField coaching expertiseTraining content creation capabilityMedium proficiency in data analysisStakeholder management & collaborationPlanning, execution discipline, and problem-solving mindsetQualification & ExperienceGraduate/Postgraduate/Pharmacy/Life Sciences preferred8–10 years in pharma, with managerial exposure and 3–5 years of experience in training/field coaching.Experience in specialty divisions an advantageExposure to Sales Excellence/Capability Development preferred
