The work directly impacts live biometric systems, not academic prototypes.Core Focus AreasFacial Recognition (end-to-end biometric pipelines)Face detection, alignment, embedding, and matchingRobustness across pose, occlusion, illumination, and motionLarge-scale biometric matching and template managementPerformance benchmarking aligned with FRTE, PFT, and IREXKey ResponsibilitiesApplied AI & Model DevelopmentDesign, implement, train, and fine-tune computer vision and deep learning models for biometric recognition.Improve system performance across challenging scenarios:Masks, helmets, scarvesLow-light and night-time imageryExtreme pose, blur, and resolution varianceWork on embedding-based recognition and identity matching systems.Benchmarking & Evaluation (Core Responsibility)Evaluate biometric systems using international benchmark methodologies, including:FRTE (Face Recognition Technology Evaluation)PFT (Performance & Functional Testing)IREX (Iris Exchange / Evaluation–style protocols, where applicable)Measure and analyze performance using:FAR / FRRROC / DET curvesIdentification and verification accuracyPerform detailed failure analysis (false accepts / false rejects) and drive measurable improvements.Optimization & Deployment ReadinessOptimize models for:CPU and GPU inferenceMemory footprint and latency constraintsSupport deployment across:On-premise infrastructureEdge devicesScalable backend systemsWork closely with engineering teams to ensure benchmark-aligned models are production-ready.Documentation & CollaborationDocument experiments, benchmarks, and model behavior clearly.Collaborate with platform, engineering, and product teams to integrate AI models into live biometric systems.Required Skills & ExperienceStrong background in Computer Vision and Deep Learning.Hands-on experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow (PyTorch preferred).Solid understanding of:CNN-based and modern vision architecturesEmbedding-based and metric-learning approachesExperience working with real-world biometric image or video datasets.Ability to translate research papers into deployable, benchmark-aligned implementations.Preferred (Strong Plus)Prior hands-on experience with FRTE, PFT, IREX, or equivalent biometric evaluation frameworks.Experience in facial recognition, iris recognition, or multimodal biometrics.Exposure to large-scale biometric benchmarking or compliance-driven evaluations.Experience with model optimization tools (ONNX, TensorRT, OpenVINO).Publications, patents, or applied research in biometrics / computer vision.What This Role Is NOTNot a generic ML engineering role.Not a data annotation or labeling role.Not a purely academic research position detached from deployment.This role requires precision, rigor, and accountability for benchmarked biometric performance.What Tech5 OffersWork on world-class biometric systems evaluated under international standards.Exposure to FRTE, PFT, and IREX-aligned programs and methodologies.AI work that directly impacts national-scale identity and security systems.Competitive compensation aligned with expertise and contribution.
