Data Engineering SME – Talend / Datastage / Oracle / ClouderaLocation - DUBAI (ON-SITE)Experience - 10+ YearsJob DescriptionWe are looking for a highly skilled Data Engineering SME with deep expertise in Talend or Datastage, strong hands-on experience in Oracle or Cloudera/Hadoop ecosystems, and excellent SQL & data engineering skills. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, building, optimizing, and supporting enterprise-grade data pipelines and data integration solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesData Engineering & ETL Development- Design, develop, and optimize ETL pipelines using Talend or IBM Datastage. - Build scalable data integration workflows for batch and real-time data processing. - Implement transformation logic, error handling, performance tuning, and reusable ETL frameworks. - Drive migration and modernization of existing ETL processes to Talend, Datastage, or Cloudera platforms.Data Platform Expertise- Manage and maintain data workflows on Oracle, Cloudera/Hadoop, or hybrid cloud environments. - Work with Oracle PL/SQL, partitions, indexes, stored procedures, and query optimization. - Hands-on experience with Hadoop components such as HDFS, Hive, Impala, Spark (optional but preferred). - Support end-to-end data lifecycle including ingestion, transformation, storage, and delivery.SQL & Data Modeling- Write advanced SQL for complex transformations, data validation, profiling, and analysis. - Build logical and physical data models aligned with business requirements. - Perform data quality checks, root cause analysis, and impact assessments. - Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across systems.Solution Design & SME Role- Act as the Subject Matter Expert for all ETL/data engineering design decisions. - Provide best practices, standards, and architectural guidance on data integration. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including BI, Analytics, Product, and Platform groups. - Review team deliverables and ensure technical quality and performance. - Support production systems, troubleshoot failures, and ensure high availability.Testing & Documentation- Conduct end-to-end testing: unit, functional, regression, integration, and performance. - Ensure detailed documentation for data flows, mappings, and ETL processes. - Create operational guides, SOPs, and knowledge-sharing collateral for the team.Required Skills & ExperienceTechnical Skills- Talend (preferred) or IBM Datastage – expert-level proficiency. - Strong experience in Oracle (PL/SQL, performance tuning) or Cloudera/Hadoop. - Deep understanding of ETL frameworks, data warehousing, data pipelines. - Strong SQL skills – joins, window functions, analytical queries, optimization. - Experience with data modeling, data quality, and metadata management. - Familiarity with UNIX/Linux scripting, job scheduling, and automation tools.Nice-to-Have- Exposure to cloud data environments like AWS, Azure, or GCP. - Experience with Spark, Kafka, or Python. - Knowledge of CI/CD, version control, and DevOps practices.
