The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in Shopify development, Liquid templating, API integrations, and custom theme or app development. You'll work closely with the Tech Lead, UI/UX designers, and project managers to build scalable, high-performing Shopify stores for global clients.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain Shopify and Shopify Plus stores — from setup to production deployment.Customize and build themes using Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and AJAX.Design and develop custom Shopify Apps (public/private) and integrate with third-party systems such as ERP, CRM, Payments, and Shipping platforms.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Design, PM, QA) to translate business needs into technical deliverables.Optimize websites for performance, SEO, and conversion rate improvements.Perform code reviews, troubleshoot, debug, and improve existing Shopify implementations.Stay updated with new Shopify releases, Liquid updates, and eCommerce best practices.Support Shopify migrations from platforms like WooCommerce, Magento, or custom systems.Explore AI-assisted tools and automation for faster and more efficient development workflows.Technical Skills RequiredAdvanced proficiency in Shopify, Shopify Plus, and Liquid templating.Experience in custom theme and app development.Strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, JSON, REST, and GraphQL APIs.Proficiency in at least one backend stack — NodeJS (preferred) or Python.Experience with Shopify APIs and third-party integrations (ERP, CRM, payments, etc.).ReactJS or Next.js is a plus.Knowledge of Shopify CLI, GIT, Azure DevOps, and deployment pipelines.Understanding of Shopify Storefront API and Hydrogen Framework (preferred).Strong grasp of SEO principles, speed optimisation, and conversion tracking.Soft Skills & AttributesStrong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality code.Organized, accountable, and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.Proactive learning mindset and interest in exploring AI-driven development innovations.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.Shopify Certification preferred but not mandatory.2–5 years of hands-on experience in Shopify development (Shopify Plus experience preferred).What Drives YouPassion for eCommerce, digital transformation, and building great user experiences.Data-driven thinking with creativity and a problem-solving mindset.Thriving in global, cross-cultural teams and contributing to business growth.Ownership, innovation, and creating measurable impact through technology.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experience and expertise.Paid time off, sick leave, and medical benefits.Performance-based incentives and growth opportunities.A collaborative, value-driven culture with continuous learning.Work from our vibrant Pune – Baner office, surrounded by innovation and energy.Come light it up with us at Hot Fuego — where we don’t just grow brands, we set them on fire.
