Director of Engineering (Voice AI Stack)We are building a next-generation Voice AI Stack platform that powers speech analytics, voicebots, and email analytics, unified under a centralized insights platform. Our mission is to deliver intelligent, real-time, and scalable AI solutions that transform how businesses interact with their customers.We are looking for a Director of Engineering who can drive the engineering team through 0 → 1 → 10 → 100 scale, balancing leadership, technical depth, and execution discipline. This leader will play a pivotal role in building and scaling teams, shaping product execution, and delivering impactful AI-driven solutions.Key Responsibilities- Leadership & Team Building - Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing engineering team, including hiring managers and engineers across multiple sub-teams. - Establish a strong engineering culture centered around innovation, ownership, and accountability. - Provide coaching and career development for engineers and managers. - Product & Delivery - Partner with Product, Design, and Data Science teams to define roadmaps and ensure timely, high-quality delivery. - Translate business goals into technical execution plans and deliverables. - Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of voice AI and analytics systems. - Scaling & Execution - Drive engineering through different growth phases (0 → 1 → 10 → 50 scale), ensuring process and architecture evolve with scale. - Define and implement best practices in agile execution, release management, and system observability. - Proactively identify bottlenecks and risks and implement mitigation strategies. - Technology & Architecture - Provide architectural direction for speech analytics, voicebot systems, and insights platforms. - Oversee integration of AI/ML models (speech-to-text, LLMs, NLP, TTS) into production-grade systems. - Balance build vs. buy decisions to optimize cost, speed, and scalability.Qualifications & Experience- 12+ years of industry experience, with 6+ years in engineering leadership roles (managing managers and multi-functional teams). - Proven track record of taking complex platforms/products from zero to scale (0 → 1 → 10 → 50). - Strong experience in building distributed systems, real-time data pipelines, or AI/ML-powered products. - Demonstrated ability to hire, grow, and retain talent at all levels, including managers. - Exceptional communication and collaboration skills; able to work closely with Product, Data, and Business stakeholders. - Experience in Voice AI, speech analytics, conversational AI, or large-scale SaaS systems is a strong plus. - Solid technical foundation in cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP), microservices, and modern data/ML platforms.What We Offer- Opportunity to shape the future of Voice AI at scale. - A fast-paced, collaborative environment with a focus on innovation. - Autonomy to drive engineering strategy, culture, and execution. - Competitive compensation, ESOPs, and benefits.
