Job Title : Data Security Engineer (DLP & Cloud Security)Location : Remote (India)Employment Type : Full-TimeAbout the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled Data Security Engineer with strong expertise in data protection, DLP technologies, cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP), and enterprise IT integration. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working in multi-tenant or MSP environments, strong foundational IT security knowledge, and the ability to classify, protect, and govern sensitive data across diverse systems.This is a technical security engineering role focused on safeguarding data across its entire lifecycle—classification, access controls, cloud storage security, insider risk reduction, and DLP rule engineering.Key Responsibilities: Data Protection & DLP• Design, configure, and maintain Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies across endpoints, cloud services, and email environments.• Develop regular expression (regex)-based detection rules to identify sensitive data patterns.• Implement and fine-tune AI-based or automated data classification models.• Monitor alerts, investigate policy violations, and drive remediation with stakeholders.• Support insider threat detection & data exfiltration prevention initiatives.Cloud Security (AWS, Azure, GCP)• Secure workloads running across AWS, Azure, and GCP—including VMs, databases, storage buckets, and IAM.• Evaluate and remediate misconfigurations in cloud environments (S3 bucket access, shared access signatures, public exposure).• Implement cloud-native security controls (AWS KMS, IAM roles, Azure AD, GCP IAM).• Support compliance and data governance assessments in multi-cloud infrastructures.Data Classification & Governance• Define and maintain data classification schemes (structured vs. unstructured, PII, PCI, confidential data, etc.).• Build automation for data discovery using traditional and AI-driven methods.• Partner with engineering and business teams to drive enterprise-wide adoption of classification standards.IT Security Operations• Manage identity and access controls including users, groups, permissions, and ACLs.• Support security reviews, risk assessments, and policy implementation.• Investigate security incidents involving data exposure or unauthorized access.MSP / Multi-Tenant Technology Operations• Provide technical security support across multiple customer environments.• Ensure tenant isolation and proper access boundaries.• Coordinate deployments, updates, and environment configuration for various clients.Enterprise IT Integration• Work with ServiceNow, Jira, or similar systems to manage tickets, change requests, and workflows.• Document processes, create runbooks, and contribute to operational maturity.• Engage cross-functional teams (IT, Cloud Ops, DevOps, Compliance).Required Skills & Qualifications: • 3–7 years of experience in cybersecurity, cloud security, or data protection roles.• Hands-on experience with DLP tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview, Symantec DLP, Forcepoint, Netskope, or similar).• Strong knowledge of AWS, Azure, and/or GCP security fundamentals.• Ability to write and interpret regular expressions (regex).• Strong understanding of structured vs unstructured data and classification methodologies.• Solid foundation in IT security concepts: IAM, ACLs, permissions, user/group management.• Experience working in an MSP or multi-tenant environment is highly preferred.• Familiarity with enterprise ITSM systems (ServiceNow, Jira, ConnectWise, etc.).• Understanding of data backup security, CIA triad, and insider threat models.Preferred Qualifications: • Security certifications: Security+, CCSP, AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer, CISSP (plus).• Experience with SIEM tools and incident analysis.• Exposure to data governance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001).• Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python) is a plus.What We Offer• Remote-first work environment• Opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud & data protection technologies• Professional development and certification support• Collaborative team with a strong security culture• Competitive salary and performance incentivesWho Should Apply:This role is ideal for you if:• You are a data-driven security engineer who enjoys protecting sensitive information.• You understand both cloud security and data protection engineering.• You want to work in a diverse, challenging MSP-like environment.• You have strong analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills.
