Position - CFO / FOLocation -- PuneQualification - CAJob SummaryThe Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for leading the financial strategy, planning, and management of the organization to ensure long-term financial sustainability, regulatory compliance, and efficient use of resources. The CFO partners with academic and operational leadership to support institutional growth, quality education delivery, and mission alignment.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Strategy & LeadershipCandidate should be a Chartered Accountant on or before 2008.Develop and execute the organization’s financial strategy aligned with educational goals and long-term vision.Advise the CEO and Board on financial performance, risks, investments, and growth opportunities.Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.Financial Management & ControlsOversee accounting, treasury, payroll, procurement, and financial reporting functions.Ensure robust internal controls, financial policies, and risk management practices.Manage cash flow, working capital, debt, and investment portfolios (if applicable).Budgeting & Cost OptimizationLead annual and multi-year budgeting processes across academic and administrative units.Monitor expenses and identify cost-efficiency opportunities without compromising educational quality.Evaluate program and course profitability (for higher education / edtech).Compliance & GovernanceEnsure compliance with applicable education regulations, tax laws, funding requirements, and accreditation standards.Manage audits, statutory filings, and reporting to regulators, donors, or funding agencies.Support Board committees (Finance, Audit, Investment).Funding & Revenue ManagementOversee tuition pricing strategies, fee structures, and financial aid/scholarship models.Manage grants, endowments, donations, and government funding (if applicable).Support fundraising initiatives and investor relations (for for-profit or edtech organizations).Team LeadershipBuild and lead a high-performing finance team.Promote financial literacy and accountability across departments.Ensure succession planning and continuous development of finance staff.Job SummaryThe Finance Officer is responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations of the institution, ensuring accurate financial records, regulatory compliance, efficient use of funds, and timely reporting. The role supports academic and administrative functions by maintaining financial discipline and transparency.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial OperationsCandidate should be a Chartered Accountant on or before 2010 till 2020Maintain accurate books of accounts, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.Process student fee collections, invoicing, refunds, and reconciliation.Manage payroll processing, statutory deductions, and staff reimbursements.Budgeting & MonitoringAssist in preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.Monitor departmental expenditures against approved budgets.Prepare variance analysis and financial summaries for management.Compliance & ReportingEnsure compliance with applicable education regulations, tax laws, and statutory requirements.Prepare and submit statutory filings (GST/VAT, income tax, TDS, social security, etc., as applicable).Coordinate internal and external audits and respond to audit queries.Cash & Treasury ManagementMonitor cash flow and bank balances.Prepare bank reconciliations and manage petty cash.Support fee collection controls and payment approvals.Procurement & Vendor ManagementProcess purchase orders, vendor invoices, and payments.Maintain vendor records and ensure timely payments.Support procurement controls and documentation.Grants, Funds & Scholarships (if applicable)Track grants, donations, scholarships, and restricted funds.Ensure proper utilization and reporting as per donor or government requirements.Systems & RecordsMaintain financial records, student fee data, and documentation.Support finance systems, ERP, or accounting software usage.Ensure data accuracy and confidentiality.Kindly send your updated resumes on hr@
