We are gathering American English conversation dialogue audio recordings to improve EV car speech recognition. When recording, you and your chat partner need to be in separate rooms and connect using our dedicated phone application (APP). The recording procedure involves creating 5 to 7 individual recordings. We will provide 18 topics from which you can choose. For each chosen topic, you will need to improvise a 20 to 30-minute conversation with your partner and record it using the FunCrowd app on your phone. The entire project, including setup, will take approximately 3 hours in total. Important: This is NOT script reading. The conversation must be spontaneous and natural. Two speakers must take turns, and the duration of each speaker's turn needs to be balanced. A single speaker should not speak continuously for more than 2 to 3 minutes in a row. Please ensure there is continuous interactivity, mimicking a natural, real-life conversation! All participants must download the FunCrowd App to their phone and record in a quiet place. The recording is designed to mimic a normal phone call, so you will need to hold the phone close to your ear. Requirements: Access to a smartphone valued at more than $100 USD. A quiet place with reliable WiFi. It is highly recommended that you bring your own conversation partner (family or friend) to streamline the process. Payment Structure: Individual Payment: $50 USD per person. Group Payment: $105 USD per group (for two speakers completing the session together).
