About the jobWe are seeking a highly accomplished Turbomachinery Engineer to join our advanced propulsion team in the development of state-of-the-art turbomachinery systems for next-generation orbital and deep-space rocket engines. This role requires demonstrated expertise in the end-to-end design and operation of high-performance turbopumps, spanning conceptual architecture, advanced computational analysis, precision manufacturing, system integration, and rigorous validation testing.Roles & Responsibilities:- Engage in the end-to-end development of turbopumps and related subsystems, including pumps, turbines, seals, bearings, and drive systems. - Conduct hydrodynamic, thermal, and structural analyses to optimize performance. - Develop 3D models, engineering drawings, and interface definitions for manufacturing and integration. - Develop test plans, test configuration, procedures and demonstrate the performance of the system through qualification tests. Closely coordinate with assembly, integration and testing teams to execute development activities. - Engage with vendors and suppliers to define technical requirements, oversee manufacturing processes and ensure delivery of high-quality components. - Drive continuous improvement in design methodologies, materials, and manufacturing techniques. - Author and maintain design documentation, test plans and qualifications reports.Requirements- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in aerospace, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline. - 2+ years’ experience in design and development of turbomachinery of aerospace applications. - Strong understanding of combustion systems/turbomachinery and feed systems. - Proficiency in CFD, FEA, and thermal/fluid analysis tools. - Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to write design reports, test plans and deliver presentations.Preferred Qualifications- Experience with additive manufacturing for propulsion hardware. - Knowledge of advanced materials and coatings for high-performance turbomachinery. - Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment with multi-disciplinary collaboration.
