Technical Project Manager – Smart Home & Building AutomationChennai |Nakshatra Automation4–7 years experience |₹35,000 – ₹45,000 / monthAbout the RoleNakshatra Automation is looking for a strong Technical Project Manager to own end-to-end execution of smart home & building automation projects.This role is for someone who can lead technically, manage subcontractors confidently, ensure quality delivery, and give customers absolute confidence — without micromanagement from leadership.This is a core leadership role, not a coordinator or pure programmer role.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Ownership- Own technical delivery of automation projects (pre-install to handover) - Review wiring plans, panel schedules, routing, BOQ from a technical perspective - Work with Technical Lead (R&D) on complex integrations and system logicExecution & Installation- Plan and drive installation & commissioning activities - Lead and guide internal engineers during programming and testing - Ensure clean, safe, professional installation standardsSubcontractor Management- Technically guide and control subcontractor teams - Resolve on-site technical issues decisively - Ensure adherence to company standards and timelinesQuality & Commissioning- Approve wiring readiness before installation - Lead system testing, commissioning, and final validation - Ensure zero major rework due to technical gapsClient Interaction (Technical)- Attend key technical meetings with customers - Explain automation logic and system behavior confidently - Support smooth handover with strong technical confidence - (Routine updates and documentation are handled by a separate coordinator)Escalation & Support- Handle advanced technical escalations before they reach leadership - Support service team on complex issues when requiredWhat You Will NOT Do- No routine client follow-ups or payment chasing - No documentation maintenance or spreadsheets - No daily electrician chasing - No admin or coordination workThis role is pure technical leadership + execution ownership.Required ProfileEducation- B.E / B.Tech – EEE / ECE / E&I preferredExperience- 4–7 years in Home Automation / BMS / ELV / Electrical Project Execution - Strong site experience with wiring, panels, and commissioningTechnical Knowledge- Electrical wiring concepts (L/N/S, dimming, loads, CAT6, CCTV) - Exposure to automation systems (KNX / Zigbee / Wi-Fi / HA / IoT) - Basic networking knowledge (routers, switches, IP basics) - Ability to read and interpret electrical drawingsPersonality (Non-negotiable)- Strong ownership & accountability - Calm under pressure, no ego - Confident with electricians & subcontractors - Clear communication - Solution-oriented mindset - High integrity and reliabilityWhy Join Nakshatra Automation- High-impact leadership role in a fast-growing automation company - Work on premium residential & commercial automation projects - Clear role boundaries and structured team support - Freedom to make technical decisions - Professional work culture focused on quality and growth - Long-term career growth opportunityHow to ApplySend your details to nakshatraautomation@
