Role PurposeThe Alumni Affairs Manager will be responsible for building, engaging, and sustaining a strong alumni ecosystem that supports the institution’s brand, student outcomes, placements, mentorship, fundraising, and long-term reputation. This role plays a strategic part in converting alumni into lifelong ambassadors, mentors, recruiters, and contributors to institutional growth.Key ResponsibilitiesAlumni Engagement & Relationship Management- Design and execute a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy across batches, programs, and geographies. - Build meaningful, long-term relationships with alumni through events, communications, networking initiatives, and digital platforms. - Act as the single point of contact for alumni-related initiatives across the institution.Alumni Database & Digital Presence- Create, maintain, and continuously update a centralized alumni database (profiles, employment, achievements, location). - Drive adoption of alumni portals, LinkedIn groups, WhatsApp communities, newsletters, and CRM tools. - Track engagement metrics and generate regular MIS reports for leadership.Alumni-Led Value Creation- Enable alumni participation in: - Student mentorship programs - Guest lectures, webinars, and industry talks - Placements, internships, and live projects - Admissions referrals and brand advocacy - Collaborate closely with Placement, Admissions, Training, and Academic teams.Events & Community Building- Plan and execute alumni meets, reunions, regional chapters, annual alumni conclaves, and virtual engagement sessions. - Manage event budgets, logistics, communication, and post-event engagement follow-ups.Fundraising & Institutional Development (If applicable)- Support alumni-led fundraising, scholarships, endowments, and CSR initiatives. - Identify and nurture high-impact alumni for long-term institutional partnerships.Governance & Alumni Chapters- Facilitate formation and governance of alumni associations, chapters, and advisory councils. - Ensure compliance with institutional policies and best practices.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)- Growth in active alumni engagement rate - Number of alumni-led placements, internships, and mentorships - Alumni database accuracy and coverage - Event participation and satisfaction scores - Alumni referrals for admissions and employer partnerships - Fundraising / contribution milestones (where applicable)Qualifications & Experience- Postgraduate degree in Management, HR, Communications, Public Relations, or related fields - 5–10 years of experience in alumni relations, corporate relations, community management, or stakeholder engagement - Prior experience in higher education or large community ecosystems preferred - Strong exposure to alumni engagement, event management, CRM tools, digital engagement platformsKey Competencies- Exceptional relationship-building and networking skills - Strong communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management - Strategic thinking with strong execution capability - Data-driven mindset with reporting and analytics orientation - High ownership, professionalism, and emotional intelligenceWhy Join Us?- Opportunity to build a high-impact alumni ecosystem from the ground up - High visibility role with leadership and external stakeholders - Direct contribution to placements, brand building, and institutional legacy - Dynamic, purpose-driven academic environment
