Location: Pune, Maharashtra (On-site)Company: Muks RoboticsDepartment: Robotics & Autonomous SystemsExperience: 2+ Years (Robotics / Perception / Autonomous Systems)About the RoleWe are looking for a highly skilled Lead Robotics Engineer with deep expertise in 2D/3D SLAM, VSLAM, LiDAR-based mapping, and multi-sensor fusion to drive the perception stack of our humanoid robots. The candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimizing real-time mapping and localization pipelines across industrial and social humanoid platforms.Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and deployment of real-time 2D/3D SLAM solutions for indoor and outdoor navigation. - Build and optimize multi-sensor fusion using 3D/4D LiDAR, Intel RealSense, IMU, wheel odometry, and RGB-D cameras. - Implement VSLAM pipelines and integrate them into the organization’s perception framework. - Own and maintain navigation, localization, and mapping modules in ROS2. - Work closely with motion planning, controls, and AI teams to enable fully autonomous behaviors. - Develop clean and maintainable code using C++ & Python following best robotics software practices. - Lead a small team of robotics engineers and ensure timely project delivery. - Benchmark and improve robustness for complex dynamic environments. - Support real-world deployments, field testing, tuning, and performance improvements.Required Skills & Expertise- Strong hands-on experience with 2D & 3D SLAM algorithms (Cartographer, ORB-SLAM, LOAM, RTAB-Map, etc.) - Expertise in LiDAR-based mapping and point cloud processing (PCL, Open3D, etc.) - Practical experience working with 3D/4D LiDARs and Intel RealSense camera family - High-performance robotics software development using C++ and Python - Proficiency with ROS2 (Nav2, TF2, RMW, DDS, middleware) - Deep understanding of sensor calibration, extrinsics, odometry, and transforms - Experience with real-time embedded Linux systems and GPU-accelerated pipelines - Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines and Git is a plusPreferred Qualifications- Master’s/PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or related field - Experience working with humanoid robots or mobile manipulators - Publications / open-source contributions in perception / SLAM communities - Experience with deep learning–based perception frameworks (nice to have)What We Offer- Opportunity to shape the future of India’s first humanoid product line - Work on cutting-edge hardware–software fusion challenges - High-ownership, innovation-driven culture - Competitive salary, ESOP options & growth path into leadership roles
