Job DescriptionVice ChancellorKey Purpose of the Job:To lead and manage the university, ensuring that its academic, administrative and financial operations are carried out efficiently and in compliance with regulating bodiesEligibility & ExperienceA distinguished academic background with at least 10 years of experience as a professor or in an equivalent senior research/academic/administrative position.Experience requirements may vary slightly in accordance with UGC norms, university statutes, and state government regulations.Roles and Responsibilities:The Vice Chancellor shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:Providing strategic leadership and serving on various statutory bodies, councils, and committees of the University.Reviewing, developing, and strengthening academic programs, budgets, policies, and institutional frameworks.Maintaining and enhancing relationships with other universities, academic institutions, industry bodies, government agencies, and the wider community.Ensuring fair allocation of resources and actively securing grants, funding, and collaborations.Supervising faculty and staff, fostering a culture of accountability, and addressing performance-related issues.Overseeing administrative functions, including preparation of statutory and strategic reports.Representing the University at academic conferences, seminars, convocations, and other national and international forums.Building strong academic and research networks at national and global levels.Delivering keynote addresses and speeches at university events such as convocations, admissions open days, and official ceremonies.Ensuring the maintenance of high academic standards, institutional integrity, and protection of academic freedom.Essential Qualifications & CompetenciesA Ph.D. degree in a relevant discipline.Extensive experience in teaching, research, academic leadership, and university administration.A strong and consistent record of scholarship, research publications, and academic contributions.Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse academic, cultural, and social backgrounds.Proven capability to analyse and solve complex academic and administrative challenges.Excellent communication, presentation, and active listening skills.Ability to think strategically, respond effectively to the media, and represent the University professionally.A personable, ethical, and professional approach to leadership.Strong networking, organizational, and administrative skills.Interested and eligible candidates are encouraged to apply as per university norms and within the stipulated timeline.Selection Process-Interested Candidate can share cv at recruitment@
