JOB OVERVIEW: The Internal Audit function at Piramal Finance plays a critical role in safeguarding the company’s assets, reputation, and long-term sustainability. As the Lead – Retail Audit, you will ensure strong risk management, controls, and governance across Piramal Finance’s retail lending business. This role provides independent assurance to senior leadership while driving improvements that enhance compliance, efficiency, and customer trust.QUALIFICATION: Chartered Accountant (Mandatory)EXPERIENCE: Strong familiarity with Companies Act, RBI / NHB and other regulatory requirements.Significant experience in developing, testing, and assessing internal controls.Strong analytical skills with knowledge and understanding of the HFC, NBFC and Banking Systems, internal control, and reporting processes.12 to 18 years of total work experience in internal audit and risk management of NBFC/ HFC/ Banking, and reputed audit firms. Preferred to have candidate with experience in internal audit of retail assets, including central and branch audits.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Experience in undertaking audits for retail asset products and performing audits for retail lending business as per the risk-based audit plan.Conduct independent assessments, identify associated risks and mitigants, perform financial analysis, and highlight gaps.Review, documentation, pre and post-disbursement conditions and monitoring practices and controls including Early Warning Signal (EWS) identification mechanism and its effectiveness.Identify potential weaknesses in risk evaluation, monitoring and related processes, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.Review adherence to internal processes and regulatory guidelines, ensuring alignment with company policies.Assess governance processes, risk management frameworks, and internal controls, and recommend improvements while promoting strong ethics, accountability, and performance managementUndertake audits, special investigations, or reviews at the request of Audit Committee of Board (ACB), Senior Management or Regulators.Prepare Business Understanding Documents and Audit Checklists to ensure adequate audit scope coverage.Lead and mentor audit teams by reviewing their work, overseeing audit findings, and facilitating discussions with auditees to ensure effective closure and coordination across departments.Travel across PAN India for branch audits, as and when required.Prepare audit reports with adequate documentation and ensure completion of post-report actions and audit closures within the system.
