Education :Masters in Food Science/Technology from CFTRI, NIFTEM T , NIFTEM Sonipat , Jadavpur University, HBTI, UDCT, MAU, Parbhani. OR BE/ME in Chemical Engg/ Technology from IITs & equivalent institutions Knowledge and Business Understanding: Knowledge of product formulation (product chemical composition, ingredient properties and functions, interactions between ingredients, impact of processing & storage on stability and safety etc). Knowledge of food science and technology including the relevant process equipment and systems. Strong back ground of chemical science. Familiarity in different food processing equipment and systems Familiar with modern methods of food analysis instrumentation & procedures. Knowledge of foods related statutory compliances (e.g. FSSAI, Codex, BIS, weights and measures etc.) Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, Quality Systems & product costing. Knowledge of statistical analysis and interpretation of data, design of experiments etc. Should have excellent Project Management and planning skills. Management/Personal Skill: Innovation, Trouble shooting, Analytical and Communication skills Should have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build high -performing team. Ability to manage the value creation process through empowerment and personal credibility. Openness and fluidity in thought and the agility to innovate. Strong analytical and problem solving ability. Having Consumer focused approach for sustained value creation. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Assist General Manager- Product Development in following areas: New product ideation and development by trial production of various formulations in the pilot plant. Actualize new product concepts and existing concepts. Current products reformulation for cost reduction/product superiority. Shortlisting and development of flavours for specific projects. Documentation and costing of product trial data in the pilot plant trials. To evaluate and maintain records of flavors/ingredients received form various vendors for specific projects. Archiving of samples of product trials, samples received from CMUs and CPT samples. Development of new vendors for new product raw materials and alternate vendors for current product RMs. Testing of new raw materials with internal and external lab as per FSSAI norms. Commercial trials run and commercial start-up of product developed at the pilot plant. Current product manufacturing and process stabilization in new vendor facilities. Closely co-ordinate in activities related to product stability studies. Co-ordinate and participate in internal/external CPTs for new products. Scaling up of new products from pilot plant to commercial scale. Maintenance and up gradation of pilot plant facilities. Inspection and audit of vendor facilities.’ Operation and maintenance of the pilot plant equipment.
