Job Title

Responsibilities- Expert knowledge of DB2 version 11/12 on the z/OS platform - Ability to work within a team environment and communicate effectively with others - Represent the database team in application development projects with business analysts - Promote DB2 best practices and new features to developers during application design and implementation - Ability to mentor others, including junior DBAs and application developers, as well as clearly explain complex technical issues to business analysts and end users - Proficiency with logical and physical data modeling design concepts - Solid performance tuning experience in assisting developers with SQL queries, indexing, stored procedures, triggers and resolving concurrency issues - Experience with table partitioning and maintaining very large databases - Creation and maintenance of database objects (tables, columns, indexes, etc) - Implement best practices for database backup and recovery strategies - Experience in setting and scheduling of database maintenance utilities, with different restrictive levels tailored to application usage with the organization. - Demonstrated knowledge of third party tools (Omegamon, IBM DB2 Admin, BMC, CDB, CA, etc) - Ability to make decisions and demonstrate problem solving skills, analysis, prioritization and risk taking - Ability to plan and execute a project to completion - Demonstrate personal ownership of assignments - Proactively raise and resolve issues - Strong ability to multitaskQualifications- Bachelors degree required - Several years experience in a senior DBA role supporting DB2 (version 9 or higher) production systems in a 24x7 business environment - IBM Certification is a plus
