Our intelligent multi-agent system enables these functionalities for a seamless and efficient experienceRole SummaryFinOpsly is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to lead the design and implementation of automated quality solutions across our AI-native FinOps platform. This role goes beyond traditional testing and focuses on building scalable test automation frameworks, embedding quality into the software development lifecycle, and enabling engineering teams to deliver high-confidence releases.The Senior SDET will play a critical role inshift-left quality engineering , working closely with product, engineering, and data teams to define testability, automation strategy, and quality gates for both existing PHP-based systems and new applications built onNest.js and Next.js .What You’ll Do Design and implement scalable, maintainable automation frameworks for API, UI, and data testing. Define automation strategy aligned with shift-left practices and CI/CD pipelines. Establish coding standards, patterns, and best practices for test automation. Evaluate and recommend tools and frameworks for PHP, Node.js (Nest.js), and React/Next.js applications. Partner with product and engineering teams during requirements and design phases to define acceptance criteria and testability requirements. Influence architecture decisions to improve observability, reliability, and test coverage. Embed automated tests early in the development of lifecycle, including PR-level and pre-merge validation. Build and maintain automated tests for REST APIs across PHP and Nest.js services. Validate business logic, edge cases, error handling, and authorization flows. Implement contract testing and schema validation where applicable. Develop automated UI test coverage for Next.js and PHP-based UIs. Validate end-to-end user journeys, dashboards, filters, and workflows. Ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsiveness. Design automated data validation tests against Snowflake. Validate SQL queries, aggregations, and metrics such as cost, anomaly detection, and realized savings. Ensure multi-tenant data isolation and accuracy across environments. Mentor QA Engineers and SDETs on automation best practices. Review test code and contribute to raising overall quality engineering maturity. Lead defect triage and root-cause analysis for escaped defects.What You’ll Bring 7+ years of experience in software testing and quality engineering, with strong automation focus. Strong programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one backend language (PHP preferred). Hands-on experience testing Nest.js APIs and Next.js web applications. Strong SQL skills with experience validating data in Snowflake or similar data platforms. Experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or equivalent. Experience with API testing frameworks and contract testing. Strong CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar). Deep understanding of shift-left testing and continuous quality practices. Experience designing test frameworks from scratch. Familiarity with microservices architectures and cloud-native systems. Strong debugging, profiling, and root-cause analysis skills. Adept at working with numbers, leveraging this skill for data analysis, and applying logical reasoning to solve problems. An eye for catching common sense errors in functionalities, numerical outputs, and user flows—ensuring quality at every step. Capable of conveying complex technical topics to diverse audiences. Strong technical communication and documentation skills. Ability to influence without authority. High ownership and accountability mindset. Comfort operating in ambiguous and fast-moving environments.Preferred: Experience in FinOps, cloud cost management, billing, or analytics platforms. Exposure to anomaly detection, forecasting, or data-driven systems. Experience working in high-growth startups or scaling SaaS platforms.
