We design and deliver prefabricated and modular building systems that enable faster, more predictable, and scalable construction across housing, infrastructure, and industrial applications. Our work spans PEB, Precast, LGSF, and Portabin / modular cabin structures delivered through a tight integration of design, engineering, manufacturing, and execution.About the RoleWe are looking for a Senior Architect to take ownership of architectural design and execution across our existing construction systems - including PEB, Precast, LGSF, and Portabin / modular cabin structures. The role focuses on applying, configuring, and scaling proven construction systems to real projects - working closely with Business Development, Engineering, and Industrial Design teams. You will lead architectural thinking from early feasibility and concept design through execution, ensuring solutions are buildable, scalable, and commercially viable.Key ResponsibilitiesArchitectural System DesignLead architectural design for projects using PEB, Precast, LGSF, and modular cabin systemsDevelop layouts, massing studies, and architectural strategies within predefined system constraintsEnsure designs are manufacturable, repeatable, and execution-readyCross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with BD teams on feasibility studies, concept proposals, and client discussionsCoordinate with engineering teams to align architectural intent with structural and services designInterface with industrial design and manufacturing teams to ensure consistency across products and projectsDesign Execution & GovernancePrepare architectural drawings, layouts, and design intent documentsReview and validate engineering drawings from an architectural standpointSupport the team during execution to resolve design issuesProduct & System StewardshipAct as the architectural custodian for Modulus’ existing construction systemsDefine customization limits, architectural guidelines, and standard modulesContinuously improve architectural quality, usability, and visual coherence of built outputsSpecial Projects – Energy-Efficient BuildingsLead special design initiatives focused on energy-efficient and climate-responsive buildingsDevelop and integrate passive cooling strategiesCollaborate with engineering teams to improve thermal performance, comfort, and energy efficiencyApply sustainability thinking within the constraints of modular and industrialized systemsRequired Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Architecture3+ years of professional experienceStrong exposure to PEB / Precast / LGSF / Modular or industrialized constructionExperience working with engineers, factories, or execution teamsProficiency in Rhino 3D/ Grasshopper, AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, SketchUp, Adobe, or equivalent toolsStrong understanding of construction detailing and system-based designDesign TaskSo here’s your challenge:Modular construction is fast, but often architecturally rigid. How would you design a G+1 containerized café or restaurant using an existing container system? If your instinct is to ignore design constraints, this role will frustrate you.If constraints feel like an interesting design problem, we should talk. You’ll work at the intersection of architecture, engineering, and business, out of IIT Madras Research Park, helping shape how industrialized buildings actually get delivered.Submission:Submit your response along with your CV and portfolio to talent@Subject line: “Senior Architect – (Your Name) – Modular Systems Task.”
