Nursing in the relevant specialty from an INC-recognized institution.Experience: Minimum 10 years of teaching and/or clinical experience, out of which experience should be in academic roles as per INC norms.Registration: Valid registration with State Nursing Council is mandatory.Desirable: Ph.D. in Nursing / published research work in indexed journals.Role OverviewThe Professor will provide academic leadership in the assigned nursing specialty, ensuring excellence in teaching, clinical training, research, and institutional governance in compliance with Indian Nursing Council (INC) and University regulations. The role includes mentoring faculty, guiding research, and supporting accreditation and inspections.Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Leadership & TeachingLead and deliver advanced theory and practical teaching for B.Sc., GNM programs.Plan academic calendars, course structures, and teaching strategies for the department.Ensure effective implementation of INC-prescribed curriculum and teaching hours.Evaluate student performance through internal assessments, practicals, and examinations.Research & Scholarly ActivitiesGuide M.Sc. Nursing dissertations and research projects.Promote research culture, publications, and evidence-based nursing practices.Participate and present in national/international conferences, seminars, and CNE programs.Faculty Mentorship & DevelopmentMentor and supervise Tutors, Assistant Professors, and Associate Professors.Support faculty development programs, teaching innovation, and performance improvement.Assist in faculty recruitment, orientation, and appraisal processes.Clinical & Professional OversightOversee clinical teaching, supervision, and coordination with affiliated hospitals and community health centers.Ensure maintenance of clinical records, logbooks, and quality standards.Administrative & Compliance ResponsibilitiesAssist the Principal in INC inspections, University audits, accreditations, and statutory compliance.Maintain academic documentation, departmental reports, and regulatory records.Participate in institutional committees, academic councils, and policy formulation.Student Mentoring & GovernanceProvide academic and professional mentoring to students.Ensure discipline, ethical conduct, and adherence to institutional policies.Skills & CompetenciesIn-depth subject expertise and strong clinical knowledge.Proven leadership, mentoring, and administrative abilities.Excellent communication, presentation, and academic writing skills.Sound understanding of INC norms, accreditation processes, and research methodology.Proficiency in computers, academic ERP systems, and digital learning tools.Reporting AuthorityPrincipal, Himalayan Institute of NursingEmployment TypeFull-Time (On-campus)CompensationAs per HGPI norms, experience, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
