Since its establishment in 1996 and official opening in 2003, the hospital has become a center of international healthcare excellence, emphasizing advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities and high-quality patient care.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role for the position of Senior Consultant & HOD - Microbiology, based in Kochi, Kerala. The individual in this role will lead and oversee the Microbiology department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality diagnostic and clinical services. Core responsibilities include managing laboratory operations, performing microbiological testing, supervising staff, implementing quality assurance protocols, and staying updated with the latest research and advancements in microbiology. The role also involves mentoring junior staff, participating in hospital infection control activities, and collaborating with other departments to enhance patient care and outcomes.Qualifications- MD / DNB in Microbiology (Mandatory) - Experience: Minimum 8–10 years post-qualification experience; leadership experience preferred - Head and manage overall Microbiology Department operations - Ensure compliance with applicable quality and regulatory standards - Lead infection control initiatives and support antimicrobial stewardship programs - Develop, implement, and periodically review SOPs, antibiotic policies, and surveillance reports - Provide expert microbiology consultation to clinicians - Ensure accuracy, quality, and timely release of laboratory reports - Train, mentor, and supervise microbiologists, residents, and technical staff - Lead departmental audits, quality improvement initiatives, and documentation - Participate in academic, teaching, and research activities as applicable - Registration: Kerala State Medical Council registration
