The business has executed numerous aerospace projects involving precision machining, precision fabrication, welding and brazing, heat treatment, surface treatment, assembly testing and supply of complex and airworthy systems and has garnered expertise in the successful development of liquid propulsion engines, defence systems, satellite components and assemblies, and dish antennas with feed systems.KRA: Tool Design & Development Customer Satisfaction Process Innovation & Execution Sustainability & People Development Adherence to Compliances Job Description: Tool Design & Development: Design & development ofPress Tools, machining fixtures, jigs, welding fixtures, testing fixturesfor Aerospace components (complex sheet metal parts & machined parts) manufacturing Design & development & trials ofheat treatment& surface treatmentoperations to cater to complex aerospace assembly requirements. Drafting of Tools & fixtures. Follow up with suppliers for Tools/ Fixtures manufacturing & ensure ON-TIME availability. T ool try-out and validationafter manufacturing, followed by effective maintenance and revalidation as per Aerospace standard. Maintain all Tool data, Tool history card of all Tools & Fixtures as per Aerospace standard. Analysis of Tool dimension report & decision making for acceptance or rework of Tool/ Fixture. L ow-cost automation solutionsfor aerospace manufacturing. Driveprocess optimizationto achieve excellence inQuality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) . Supportnew capability buildingfor upcoming manufacturing projects in aerospace alloys (Aluminium, Stainless Steel, Titanium, Inconel, etc.). Contribute to BU’s long-term strategic projects (e.g., WPSM) and participate in part pricing for new product development (NPD) projects in alignment with customer expectations.2. Customer centricity: Ensuredelightful customer experienceby delivering tool design that meet or exceed specifications, faster than committed timelines. Interaction with customers during the development process to ensure alignment withtechnical requirements and quality standards . Provideengineering supportfor customer projects, ensuring tools and fixtures enable defect-free manufacturing.3. Process Innovation & Execution: Drivecontinuous improvementin tool design through innovative use oflow-cost automationand new technologies. Work across all sheet metal fabrication, machining processes (turning, milling, grinding, drilling, EDM) and welding processes (TIG) to designoptimal tooling solutions . Integratespecial surface treatment and heat treatment requirementsinto fixture designs. Implement and maintain compliance withAS9100 Aerospace Standards ,ISO 9000 Quality Systems , andOHSAS 18001 Safety Standards . Lead cross-functional collaboration between design, manufacturing, and special process teams to ensure flawless execution. Build and maintain adesign data bankwith parameters, characteristics, and properties for guarded technologies to aid future projects.4. Sustainable Business Growth & People Development: Identify, develop, and retain talent in the Tool Design function through structured training and mentoring. Foster a culture ofsafety, compliance, and quality awarenessin all tool design activities. Lead capability development for new manufacturing technologies in aerospace tooling. Contribute to company-wide initiatives such asdigitization, integrated offerings, and good & green projects . Participate intask forces, interview panels, and industry forumsto strengthen organizational reputation. Support CSR-linked engineering projects where tooling expertise can create social or environmental impact.Adherence to Compliance: Promote and maintain a culture of safety, good housekeeping, and adherence to operational standards. Ensure adherence to systems and documentation as per AS9100, EMS, OHSAS & ISMS, and customer-specific requirements. Valuing the information received & effort spent in creating every piece of information. Ensuring the right information is accessed by right individuals. Ensuring Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of information. Responsible to control usage of energy sources for Environmental protection and Energy Security for sustainable growth.Qualifications Required: Essential: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/ Production Engineering Preferred: Additional qualification of Indo-German Tool Design/ NDTF Behavioural Competencies Required: Conceptualization skills Interpersonal skills Time managementFunctional/Technical Competencies Required: Knowledge of Aerospace components manufacturing processes. Thorough knowledge of GD&T. Thorough knowledge of working on AutoCAD, Creo and CATIA. Knowledge of Tool simulation software like ANSYS/ PAMSTAMP/ AUTOFORM. Surfacing knowledge of Press Tool design.Work Experience Required: Minimum 10 years of work experience for Degree in Engineering and 12 years of work experience for Diploma in Engineering.
