About CompanyThe company operates in the health and wellness technology industry, creating innovative solutions that help individuals monitor and improve their fitness and metabolic health.Job DescriptionRole OverviewThe Controllership role is responsible for financial accounting, statutory compliance, audits, internal controls, and financial reporting. The role works closely with business, operations, and leadership teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and scalability of financial processes.Key Responsibilities1. Financial Accounting & Closing:• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes• Ensure accounting in compliance with Ind AS• Review journal entries, provisions, accruals, and reconciliations• Maintain strong balance sheet hygiene including AR, AP, inventory, and provisions2. Statutory & Regulatory Compliance:• Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI, and other statutory requirements• Manage GST filings, reconciliations, audits, and notices• Support income tax assessments and regulatory filings3. Audit & Governance:• Lead statutory, tax, internal, and special audits• Act as SPOC for auditors and consultants• Strengthen internal financial controls and SOPs• Identify control gaps and drive remediation4. Inventory & Cost Controls (D2C Focus):• Oversee inventory accounting and valuation across warehouses and sales channels• Ensure accurate COGS, landed cost, and returns accounting• Partner with supply chain and operations to improve inventory controls5. Financial Reporting & MIS:• Prepare and review management MIS and variance analysis• Support leadership with insights on margins, costs, and working capital• Assist with board reporting, investor reporting, and due diligence6. Systems & Process Improvement:• Drive automation and improvements in ERP and accounting systems• Improve scalability and efficiency of finance processes• Collaborate with FP&A and business finance teams7. Team & Stakeholder Management:• Mentor and manage junior finance team members• Coordinate with external consultants, banks, and internal stakeholders• Act as a finance partner to business teamsMust Have• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)• 3–10 years of post-qualification experience• Experience in D2C, e-commerce, retail, FMCG, or consumer brands• Strong knowledge of Ind AS, GST, direct tax, and audits• Hands-on experience in month-end closing and balance sheet ownershipGood to Have• Experience in high-growth start-up or scaled D2C environment• Exposure to inventory-led businesses and multi-channel sales• ERP implementation or automation experienceKey Skills & Competencies• Strong accounting and compliance fundamentals• High attention to detail with a control mindset• Ability to work in fast-paced environments• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills• Ownership-driven and execution-focused approach
