The Glenmark Aquatic Foundation is seeking highly skilled and motivated Senior Coaches to lead the development swimming program at multiple locations in India. This coach will be responsible for developing swimmers from early stroke development (around 6 years) through to competitive group levels (up to 14–15 years), with the additional ability to guide senior-level swimmers when needed.The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, excellent motivational and team-building skills, and the ability to balance structured adherence to the Glenmark Aquatic Foundation development framework with their own coaching style, personality and experience.The Senior Coach will report directly to the Director of Development Swimming, providing consistent updates on training progress, athlete development, and program operations.Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Leadership & DevelopmentLead and manage the development training groups at the allotted center.Deliver a structured program aligned with the Glenmark Aquatic Foundation’s development pathways and technical frameworks.Plan and implement training cycles, seasonal plans, stroke development progressions, and competition preparation for the early young swimmersWork with younger swimmers transitioning into senior groups, ensuring smooth technical and psychological progression.Coach senior swimmers as required, focusing on technical refinement, physical conditioning, and competitive readiness.Technical CoachingProvide expert instruction in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly development across all stages.Teach and refine starts, turns, underwaters, race strategies, and stroke efficiency.Analyse swimmer technique through video review, underwater observation and other available tools.Track and document individual skill development and training performance.Communication & ReportingMaintain clear communication with the Director of Development Swimming regarding group progress, swimmer development, attendance, performance trends, and training outcomes.Collaborate with other coaches within the Glenmark Aquatic Foundation network to ensure consistency and program alignment.Communicate effectively with parents, when appropriate, regarding long-term athlete development and pathways.Maintain cordial relationships with partners, federation and other stakeholders.Team Culture & MotivationBuild a positive, disciplined, and athlete-centred training environment at the pool.Foster team cohesion, sportsmanship, and a high-performance mindset.Create a motivational environment that supports both competitive ambition and personal growth.Competition & EventsPrepare swimmers for local, state, and nation-level competitions.Attend competitions as required and provide race plans, feedback, and warm-up/cool-down supervision.Assist with team selections and squad assignments.Administration & SafetyEnsure safe conduct in and around the pool and adherence to all facility rules.Maintain accurate training logs, attendance records, and swimmer performance reports.Support the implementation of safeguarding standards and child-protection policies.Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum 5–7 years of coaching experience, including stroke development for swimmers (6–15).Demonstrated success in coaching swimmers to competitive performance levels.Strong technical background in all four competitive strokes, starts, turns, and long-term athlete development.Experience coaching or assisting senior-level athletes is an advantage.Relevant coaching certifications preferred.Ability to work within a developmental framework while contributing personal expertise and creativity.General Qualities Expected of a Coach at This LevelStrong leadership and team-building abilities.Excellent communication skills—clear, patient, and athlete-centred.High levels of professionalism, punctuality, and organisation.A growth mindset and willingness to learn, collaborate, and adapt.Passion for swimmer development and long-term success rather than short-term outcomes.Emotional intelligence—ability to relate to children, teenagers, and parents appropriately.Integrity, fairness, and commitment to a safe and positive sporting environment.Ability to manage pressure, provide constructive feedback, and inspire confidence.Reliability in maintaining program standards and upholding organisational valuesApplicants from outside India are welcome!
