You will be responsible forarchitecting and scaling our data ingestion, transformation, and lineage systems— the core infrastructure behind our Control Tower and MigrationHub products.You'll work closely with the product, frontend, and DevOps teams to design andimplement backend services usingPython, FastAPI, Spark, and Airflow , andmanage data pipelines acrossPostgreSQL . AtDatalogz, we value initiative, ownership, and curiosity — we move quickly andempower our engineers to make meaningful product and architectural decisions.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and optimize backend systems and APIsthat power Datalogz'sdata discovery, lineage, and monitoring products.Develop scalable ingestion pipelines to integrate with external BI platforms(e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, Spotfire).Implement and maintain high-performance microservices usingPythonandFastAPI .Manage and optimize workflows usingAirflow (MWAA) , ensuring reliabilityand fault tolerance across data jobs.Work with large-scale data processing frameworks such asApache SparkandDBTto transform and standardize metadata.Sr BackEnd Engineer1Collaborate withfrontend engineersto support the React-based ControlTower UI through performant, well-structured APIs.Contribute toinfrastructure improvements(e.g., Dockerization, observability,CI/CD pipelines, and service monitoring).Help evolve internal frameworks forconnector health, metadata lineage, andsystem performance metrics .QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fieldpreferred.4–7 yearsof backend or data engineering experience in a production SaaSenvironment.Deep experience withPythonand frameworks such asFastAPI.Strong understanding ofdatabase designand experience withPostgreSQL.Proven experience withRESTful APIs ,microservice architecture , anddistributed system design.Familiarity withAirflow (or MWAA)for orchestration andSparkfor distributeddata processing.Comfortable working incontainerized environmentsusingDockerandKubernetes .Experience managing and monitoring data ingestion from multiple APIs orconnector systems.Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a remotefirst, cross-functional environment.Bonus: Exposure toBI or analytics ecosystems ,data lineage , ormetadatamanagement systems .What We OfferWe put a premium on attracting and retaining the best talent.
