At Visy India, their technology hub in Hyderabad, they are expanding their technical capabilities to support their global business.Position Summary:The SAP technical developer is accountable for investigation into the information needs of the client, based on multiple modules within SAP ECC which includes HR, FI, SD, PM and MM. The SAP technical developer will provide a high level of creative and innovative thinking to plan, design and delivery of solutions within the SAP application that meet the client’s requirements.In addition, the developer will promote and monitor the effective use of information resources and be able to deliver efficiency gains to the existing production system.The ideal candidate should possess strong technical abilities to solve complex problems, willingness to learn new technologies and tools, and be comfortable supporting the needs of multiple teams, stakeholders, and products.What are the primary responsibilities of the Role?The SAP technical developer is accountable for:- The effective delivery of professional solutions based upon requirements gathered from the end customer - Working with internal resources as well and at times external vendors, towards delivering solutions that will maintain or improve the clients ERP systems - Maintaining documentation pertaining to technical/functional solutions written in a professional manner - Interpret business requirements to be able to design and develop high quality solutions having high regard to proper design principles, including, but not limited to, the use of standard transactions and functionality, code reuse, system stability, performance and flexibility - Design of solutions/alternatives that deliver on exact functionality, performance, robustness and systems integration expectations - Provide BAU and ongoing support of the VISY SAP environment, including developing and supporting existing business solutions; assisting other developers; addressing production break/fix issues; recommending and implementing performance tuning enhancements, as needed, and researching/implementing relevant OSS notes - Respond to incidents and problems through the development of technical solutions and processes in line with service level agreements and key performance indicators for Service Delivery - Provide solution development, maintenance and future enhancements via the utilised system architecture - Identify areas for improvement and recommend standards, tools and new technologies to support business initiatives - Jointly (with the Customer) guide the formation of the testing strategy and script reviews to test new developments and the corresponding sign-off and release strategiesExperience & QualificationsMandatory (critical for the Role)- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related field - Excellent knowledge and familiarity with all functional/technical aspects in different SAP solutions like ERP, HR, CRM, BI, Solman etc relating to developments and enhancements - Knowledge/awareness of commercial & IT business best-practice with a high degree of problem solving and technical skills - Excellent assessment, design and development capabilities applicable to tasks ranging from simple business processes to architecting and developing sophisticated systems and areas of functionality - Ability to articulate and provide specialist advice in a complex environment - Involvement in a mixture of new/existing application developments, maintenance and 3rd level technical support - Effective testing/quality control management - Working knowledge of change control processes and impacts - Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, fostering a culture of continuous improvement - Strong documentation skills – including training documentation using multiple media/methods and the ability to clearly document requirements using project management principlesKey Technical SkillsSkills (Technical, Business, Leadership):- 7+ years of solid hands-on experience on developments/enhancements in different SAP solutions which includes ECC, Gateway, BI - Understanding of SAP technical/development related to end user’s data requirements - At least 2–3 full lifecycle implementations (SAP R/3 or ECC6) modules with cross-functional experience, e.g., FI/CO, PS, SD/LE, MM, PP, WM, QM, HR (PY/PM/TM/OM/CM/PA), etc - Business process review and re-engineering – ability to identify and develop new approaches, drive changes and produce creative solutions - Experience in using ServiceNow (SNOW) or a similar ticketing solution - Understanding of ALE/IDocs and Workflow - Project management – good knowledge of project management methodology in the setting of tasks, timelines, resource/effort allocation, budget management, etc… - Extensive background and experience in the delivery of SAP RICEFW activities, inclusive of, but not limited to the following, within specified SLA’ - SAP programming technologies inclusive of: Business Add-ons, BAPIs, BADIs, LSMW, BDC, RFC, Classes and methods, ABAP procedural and object logic, customer modifications, enhancement frameworks, SAP data dictionary, SAP script, smart Forms, adobe Forms and SAP dialog programming - Use of ABAP problem solving tools to resolve production issues whether they are performance related or breakdowns in the logic flow, e.g., ABAP debugger, runtime analysis/monitor, code inspector and exception handling - Strong SAP workflow development skills using workflow builder, ABAP classes, agent determination, events, inclusive of support and debugging - Implicit and explicit enhancements, screen exits, and menu exits - SAP and non-SAP integration/data interfaces development and support to various legacy and third-party systems using RFCs, ALEs, IDocs and other relevant call transaction methods via the usage of the SAP standard and legacy middleware, e.g., BIZTALK (with/without transformations), simple and secure FTPs, etc - Security authorization concepts and structural/non-Authorizations - New technologies, including, Web Dynpro, UI5, FIORI, etc
